The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Page 4992

I'm in, as long as the list is do-able, like the example you gave.  Reasonably easy-to-find stuff so I don't get too frustrated and further depressed, haha, ah.

1 harris tweed, 1 piece of lenox crystal, one Dior tie, one Polo polo, etc. Not specifically those things, but you get the idea. You have to find all 15 things, then everyone posts and we can vote on the best variation of what was found.

I normally don't do t-shirts, but these are awesome! I think '70s medium might do me just fine...

My one find from the weekend (only went out once, today on a last-minute whim on the way home from the museum).  Keeping, since it's a much-needed staple that fits well even though marked M:

Spoo definitely In. We should set up another thread for it as to not bog this one down. Also we should figure out some way that there can be prizes!

"Pants with largest waist size with a Slim fit tag on them"

I'm in on the scavenger hunt! Will this be limited to clothing or will other categories such as bags or records be included?

Most expensive retail NWT item with a under $10 thrift price tag.

The 50/1.4 and 50/1.2 are the good prime lenses in FD mount.  There may also be a (very obscure) 50/2.0 which is only of interest to some collectors.

Had to look this up as I had never heard of the 2.0.

(Also that lens is missing the front piece anyways so would not have been worth it anyways.

Awesome link! Definitely brings back memories of the local department stores that Cincinnati used to be littered with.  I remember going to the Cherry Grove McAlpin's with my mother ever weekend.

Guys! Hey guys! Did I just find three made by drakes ties?

Also I'm in for a scavenger hunt
^ none are drakes, but all are great ties!

Glad you are all down for a scavenger hunt. I think it would be fun. And yes, all items found in a thrift shop will be included. Ive got some great ideas already, but look forward to hearing more suggestions.

+1 I thought the Hand Made in England label was a Drakes thing. Does it have an MD on the content tag? I thought T&A made the RLPL ties. Could be wrong though.

Spoo: IN

Would it be only finding not necessarily purchasing? Because a bunch of the options people are throwing out I am not wasting money on... I agree we should create a new thread for this as well.

Do I even need to announce that I'm IN?

MD? Not sure what that is...

+1. I was thinking maybe a cell phone pic of the item and maybe hold a small piece of paper in front of the said item with your SF user name?
