Allen Edmonds Sanfords in Walnut, size 9.5D, available... As you can see they're in rough shape a bit right now, but after some Reno'Mat and Renovateur I think they'll look great

These cleaned up pretty well

Okay, it's not Kiton, buuuuuuut, my first (non-tie) Brioni!

3 button super lightweight jacket, and I don't know enough about Brioni to tell whether it's an orphan or not (or how new it is or whether it's desirable). I usually wear a 42L and this one must fit a smidgen small because it darn near fits me other than the arms, so I'm tempted to keep it, but will probably find a new home. Tag below if anyone can get me a few more deets on it.

(Only bummer is that when I got it home, I realized that it had a bit of iron shine on the back of the right arm (from about the elbow to the buttons on the wrist. Anyone have any suggestions for clearing that up at all, otherwise I'll just be honest when I list it and get some actual decent photos)

Lol, I've seen it before...multiple times. And I still watched it all the way through again. I kind of love this guy. Not even in an ironic way. He's pretty funny and unapologetically pure bravado.

I watched that ENTIRE THING. Simply glorious.

Wtf, I never understand how you guys do this. If I polish beat up shoes, they just look like...now-glossy beat-up shoes. Seriously, what's the secret? I have/use Saphir but my **** never cleans up that good.

Reno'Mat did most of the work to take the gunk off. A couple coats of Renovateur reconditioned it pretty well. No special heroics.

:D Shatner plays in Priceline ads.

Oh yeah! Haha, took me awhile to put it together...

Nice find! That is a recent piece, too! It's more than likely an orphan, so I'd hit that store again and see if you can find the trousers. Check the woman's section as well.

As for removing sheen, try this tip. I've never tried it but it's worth a shot and sounds like it works.

I can't rightly claim all credit...DM7 turned me on to this guy's hilarious antics by starting the "been had" movement a few hundred pages back.

That video made my night. Thanks for sharing it. Anyone notice the eBay app alert at 6:23?

Based on the buttons, I figured it was an orphan, and I hit the racks hard to try to find the pants but couldn't round up anything. Hell, I was hoping that there was something (anything) interesting donated along with it, but no dice...

Thanks for the tip on the iron shine. That method seems odd (wouldn't vinegar make the garment smell?), but perhaps I'll try it out on something crappy before I roll the dice on the Brioni.

You and Wes are right though. I have seen so many fakes, it is unreal. Sometimes they even include fake receipts with fake items now. Boggles the mind.

+1 Last week I came across a NWT fake Lacoste. They'd gone through the trouble of faking the Lacoste hangtag

Yes, plus this: Learn what fits you. When you figure out what fits you, and only you, then start buying things for other folks. Until you know what fits you, it is impossible to say what will work for anyone else. And until you learn that proper fit is Job One, you are lost. To learn proper fit, you must learn how to measure. Once you know how to measure clothing and distinguish what fits from what does not, then ask about brands. Until then, as others have said, read this thread. All of it.

I was trying not to sound like to much of a jerk...although it is very hard when people come into the "thrift bragging thread" and ask STUPID questions that should go in the "what should I buy at the thrift store because I dont want to spend any time researching myself" thread.

Yeah...I didn't take it as jerky. Just remarking that by the math 14 hours for nearly 33,000 posts would work out to 2,350+ posts per hour. That would be impossible for me, especially with the random areas of
rotflmao.gif
and
icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
. However to a true/serious thrifter, it is an excellent read. I debated trying to print it all out on paper until I realized I couldn't afford that much paper and ink. lol
