I've been following this thread for a while now and gaining lots of valuable info. As I was at the thrift shop the other day I had an idea and thought I'd share it with you all. We all see the George clothing constantly as we thrift. I thought it would be hilarious to see who could come up with the best outfit of clothing using entirely George products. Winner would get the pride of knowing they were the ultimate at dressing on limited means. We could also do St. Johns Bay or maybe Stafford as those brands would work too. Seems amusing to me. Anyone interested in my challenge?

^^^ Welcome to the forum. It is a fun concept but one I would not do on grounds of being time consuming and it still costs $4 - $10 on each article to make an outfit

Also snagged a charcoal Hickey Freeman suit made with Loro Piana Zelander fabric. Super soft. Decent day despite the rain


Forgot to mention. I almost bought my first item purely on label. It was a run of the mill blue dress shirt, not even in my size, but the tag said "Handmade in Afghanistan." Afghan couture rocks!

1/2 inch red mark (crayon, tomato sauce?) on one of the pocket flaps that should come out at the dry-cleaner. I was able to scratch most of it away but will leave the rest to the professionals.

Gorgeous suit! If you were able to scratch most of the red mark away, try gently rubbing the remainder of the mark with a damp cloth. This works for me 90% of the time. I wouldn't take it to the dry cleaners if I didn't absolutely have to.

I Just wanna give a shoutout to whatever SFer decided to dump off 30 pieces of their wardrobe (that i found, at least) at the same time. the engineered garments pants were a nice touch. also, thanks for donating it to a store that marked it cheaper than nautica buttondowns <3

I had a pretty good day on Tuesday. 3 Zegnas, 1 Corneliani, and a pair of shell cordovan Florsheim Imperial PTBs. It would have been a great day if any of it fit, the SCs had vents, and I could find the pants for what I believe to be an orphan suit jacket (its recent and has side vents). Everything is available. The sportcoats are all 54R(EU sizing) and the Florsheims are 7.5D.

Had an OK day. Finally picked up an item for myself. All from Savers. I signed up for a card at savers that gets me a discount occasionally. Today it got me the 50% Veterans day discount the day before the sale.

Well, I finally found a Zenga (for Barney's) 6 X 2 DB navy blazer with heavy brass buttons and it would have just about rounded out my SC/Blazer collection. It was tagged a 50 and thus put in with the XL sized coats but it was euro sizing and fit like a US 42. Too bad the damned shoulders were so wide and the coat's hem reached down to my fingertips.

I felt better on the way out as I purchased a couple of pairs of shoes for SWMBO and noticed a pair of Ray-Bans (Casual Lifestyle Polarized Sunglasses RB 4026 601S/48) that were hiding in a display case mixed in with the crappy shades. You could have bought them at the local Sunglass Hut for around $140 but I got them today for $7. It took the sting out of the Zenga.



I also came across this leather jacket in mostly good condition. I couldn't find enough info about it so I left it. it was sized as a 40 but was a bit large on me. It's probably worth hundreds but since the prices seemed all over the place, I passed.

A quick run to the thrift store this morning yielded this: an Oxxford Grey Flannel Suit "The Crittenden" for Wilkes Bashford. Really good shape with no stains or holes. 1/2 inch red mark (crayon, tomato sauce?) on one of the pocket flaps that should come out at the dry-cleaner. I was able to scratch most of it away but will leave the rest to the professionals.

Tagged as a 46L. 3/2 Roll. Super 120's. I measured the waist at approx 37 or 38 with some room to let out. Bit darker than shows in photo.

Way to big for me. Open to offers.
