That is pure insanity! A Leica in a thrift!! Wow!
Nope...read it more closely. It was in an antique mall. i discovered it last night while searching for some antique buttons to replace the ones on an overcoat I thrifted. I wish it was in a thrift store for $50 or something....but it wasn't. Still got a decent deal on something I was searching for for 5 years or more.

Ok, so this was definitely not bought at normal thrift prices, but was an exceptionally good deal I couldn't pass up. As many of you know, before I got into this menswear bit, I used to deal in collectibles. Mainly vintage cameras. This was on the top of my list of cameras to find, but until yesterday I had never even laid eyes on one in person. This was in an antique mall, in the booth where I usually find bulk bags of cufflinks. I never looked in the glass case above the cufflinks so I have no idea how long this was sitting there.

That one is in exceptional condition, which is the real key to finding one. I found an earlier model last year (1952 - IIIf with lens) and sold it for $750 to a buyer in Hong Kong. The M3 in that condition may be worth more. If you never have handled one, it feels like a solid piece of metal and every thing is exceptionally precise in all of the settings and shutter.

Very nice - thanks for sharing!

1962 Leica M3 (Body Only)
Such a beautiful camera. I've dreamed of finding an affordable one for a long long time. I've severely cut down on my camera collecting the last few years...

Hey guys, I've been a lurker for a while but decided to finally become a member and try to learn some more from all of you. For starters, could you all help me with an authenticity check on this Brioni tie I thrifted this week? Obviously I'm new to Brioni so I know very very little, so if its obvious please just explain what it is for future reference.

Spoo must be paying them in luxeswap coupons and handjobs for the exposure he gets!

LOL! Also, DM7, where are my coupons?! haha
EDIT: Stax, leave 346 pick up Boss. I think everyone around here would agree that its not too hard to slip boss suits for 50-80 all day long, sometimes over 100

Stax, I haven't forgotten about ya!

Grabbed 2 random ass things today- They both came out on the same cart and no one touched them. First was a GraLab enlarger timer for $5.99. A hell of a deal and as a photographer, I think it'd make an appropriate kitchen timer. Also for the kitchen, some ikea dioder under counter led lights, unopened, for $10. Now I need to track down a lockable metal storage cabinet and I'll almost be set haha.

Never do know what you're gonna end up with.

I NEVER check shoes but this time I decided to and there was a pair with shoe trees in them that caught my eye...it was this....

They look like they worn 1 day and maybe the dude didnt like the fit so returned them to whatever the retail store was that donated them.
Worst part of it all, theyre my damn size and fit like a glove. Why's that bad thing? Im broke and intended to buy them for flipping purposes. Ugh.

Woah! I would definitely keep them, if possible. Mint Lobbs in your size = a once-in-a-lifetime gift from the thrift gods.

Grah.. But this wasn't a suit, just a coat. Still? And I wasn't sure about the 346 either, but seemed safer. Guess not.
