I don't think it was s decision he was outsourcing. I think it was a question he was asking in order to see if people could help him better understand his options and thus make his own choice with more confidence/clarity.

You're right Matt and thanks for raising the questions I need to take into consideration. I am not outsourcing the decision. I am just seeking some perspective from people with varying levels of experience and stages in their careers. This has been my first job so this is the first time I've had to make such a decision and I have very little to compare it to. Cheers.

Romp will you be able to do CMT? Alternatively, would it be possible to have a listing of what books you guys would source from?

I've found some hilarious bemberg lining and I'd love to have the option of including that in a potential future order.

arigold, i quit my last private practice job at the end of last year, (having been there for 4 years and 9 months). a couple of the main reasons were because i didn't feel challenged enough/complacent, and further, i knew i was going to pigeon hole my career if i didn't move. so i chose something that a. opened more doors for my career and b. was more challenging, workload wise. the downside of it was a. level of work was below private practice, but if you are promoted, in the long run the it creates much more opportunities (i'm currently with the public circus) and b. it was only for a temporary contract (it ends 24 June with a high likelihood of being renewed). big risk in my view, with no guarantees at all. but sometimes you have to take the punt. life's too short. keeping in mind, i have a mortgage too.

I bought my first respectable ties! What are your thoughts on the green? Bit of an experiment so I left the tags on.

Also: what kind of pocket squares go with navy ties?

Also: Tie Rack - decent quality or bad? It's having closing down sales all over. 50% off ties and 30% off pocket squares.

This morning's questions:

1) Anyone know where I could track down the MJ Bale Palmer Twill? I'm after a dark grey suit.

2) I need wayfarers to wear, mostly inside. Do I really want polaroid?

3) I want to start rocking a cardi like this:

Should I go a cotton or a wool? I was thinking of grabbing a marle and light red cotton from Asos, more for fun than anything.

1. No idea

2. What? Sunglasses inside? I'm a fan of Ray Bans Wayfarers (mine cost $130 and are excellent)

3. I personally would get incredibly thin merino - super breathable and won't overheat too much.

1. :(

2. I already have those! wayfarers are designed to be worn inside.

3. Source? wool and wool seems a bit match-matchy.

2. How are sunglasses designed to be worn away from the sun?

3. Not sure where to grab

I'm kidding. You'd have to read the book 'The Informers', basically all the characters wear Wayfarers inside as symbolic of their social disconnect/vacuous consumerism.

I'd go wool, but I just got one from Zara almost the same as the above for $60 and it feels pretty good and fits great. Can't think of what it's made of (not wool). Make sure you do it up. If you want a dark grey suit look at the MJ bale mudgee. How come you wanna wear sunnies indoors? Or do you mean as glasses? Have you heard the saying "only rockstars and arseholes wear sunglasses inside"?

What suit size are you Oli2012? Also, in regard to question two, do you mean polarised? As in, the lenses?
