Overall I'm very happy with the suit, and with the service. Simon's been very helpful, even despite the fact that ******** up the first set of measurements. I found a good tailor the second time and got them to retake them all (which is handy anyway, because now I've finally found a decent tailor in Hobart).

^^ Thanks Michael.

The shirt is MJ Bale, the tie is a 7 fold Distino (ok, but nothing on HC obviously ;-)) and the shoes are herring single-monks. They are pretty beat up in that photo, but look a little better now that I've polished them up and darkened them a little.

Looking for a pair of Nike Cortez or Addidas Gazelles; I think TBM has a pair of the Cortez's and was wondering where you get all your killer vintage kicks from? Also is are Cortez's very wide as I want to get a pair for my wife aswell and she has some very narrow feet (opposites attract :p).

Where to get shoe trees in Aus?
If i order  couple pairs online they come out to around $40 each, for that price I would like to think I could walk in to a store in Melbourne and buy them on the spot.

Gerry, Appolyon and me make our own.

Once you get the basic shape right duplicating it is a piece of the proverbial.
Just a few hours in the shed with a workbench and saw and sander and you can just churn them out for around $5 a pop if using pine from Bunnings. Luckily we are all the same shoe size.

Bunny, I haven't had a pair of the Cortez for many years, but from memory, they're quite narrow (like most Nike shoes). I think that I had to go up half-a-size from my usual sneaker size to get a good fit, but of course, your (or your wife's) mileage may vary depending on foot shape.

Re: shoe trees (as asked by Unnamed Player), I usually order from overseas because most of the shoe trees that I see here are a) too expensive and b) often have a plastic handle or ball at the back, rather than a rounded wood end and I don't like the way that they push against the back of the shoes.

I'm not sure if Amazon ships shoe trees to Australia but I've seen good Woodlore trees there quite cheaply. Otherwise, a search for cedar shoe trees on eBay should hopefully reveal some good bargains, although availability varies from time to time. There was a big lot of Costco cedar shoe trees available from resellers on eBay a while back and there were some very, very good deals to be had.

Here's an example from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Woodlore-Epic...TF8&qid=1366876863&sr=1-5&keywords=shoe+trees

The same style can sometimes be had more cheaply on eBay but it just depends on sales and availability.

Just on this, I was walking down Collins last week and did a double take. There is a TM Lewin store there now. A couple of shops down from Henry Bucks.

Might be useful info for some.

Thanks to whoever recommended the Bergeon spring bar removal tool recently. Mine arrived from France yesterday and I've enjoyed playing around with a few different straps today.
