Sad news.
After using Opera as my main browser for over 15 years in a myriad of places and various machines I have to report that the latest upgrade,12.12, is horrendous for scrolling.
As I use scrolling to do most of my speed reading this is frustrating.

The performance is improved somewhat by disabling "smooth scrolling" - very disappointing.

I'm trying to go back to the previous version, in the meantime using Firefox for reading /scrolling.

Anyone else got the same problem? - I notice its a major problem on the Opera Forums but no fix yet.

I found the same problem a while ago on Firefox. If you aren't tied to Opera I'd check out Chrome or Chromium (Googles version and the open source version, respectively). It's nice and lightweight and has support for all the major addons.

Busy few weeks for me. Didn't get a chance to get much in the sales. Only thing of note is a MJ Bale unlined jacket, 100% wool in a light navy, patch pockets, nice texture etc, but not an outstanding deal. Couple more of Jason's ties on the way, and a few other trinkety things.

not too surprised. i've a 10k limit with them, took me 2-3 years to get to that level, as opposed to my brother who's only been with them for 1 year and has half the limit, even though he earns 6 figures (and significantly more than me). they've been clamping down since GFC.

True - in some ways, credit has been tightened.

On the other hand, I've received several invitations to apply for a platinum card over the past year, with a minimum credit limit of $10 000. I didn't think that I was important enough for such things but upon reading the fine print, to my surprise, it turns out that you only need an annual income of $50 000 and a good credit history to qualify. Clearly, in some ways at least, platinum's not worth as much as it used to be as when I was younger, I remember that you had to be earning about that much to get a gold credit card, and platinum cards were for people like Gordon Gekko!

The 28 degreee is overrated. If you can't get the credit card just get this: http://www.citibank.com.au/aus/banking/everyday_banking/citibank_plus.htm

No fees inlcuding no FX fee/commissions - it's just a debit card

hehe yep those were the good ole days but thanks to marketing guess thats why they have Diamond et al now.
