nah i mean if you're really skinny you won't have much of an ass to begin with and so you can sag the jeans a bit more easily. just don't wear a belt and always pull the jeans down a bit so you have some room for your junk

that's what i've been doing lately and only because i've been gaining a bit of weight causeing my rear end to expand a bit

sagged slim jeans always look bad to me cause the proportions are all off. I think even if you're skinny you should only size down 1 on PBJ. Just imho

I would not. BiG is saying if you plan to wear the jeans raw, size down 3, that means that you just wear without soaking, and never wash them. Its stupid, but people do it. You would size down to account for the shrinkage that would occur when you would wash them or soak them. Kit, atsui and other were all refering to sizing if you were to shrink them, BiG was not.

Thanks for that important caveat. No, I won't wear them raw in terms of 'never wash or soak them ever'. Didn't realize that's what BiG meant.

I typically do wear my jeans raw for several months before handwashing them. If, for the PBJ's, it's generally a better idea to give them a soak I wouldn't hesitate to do that. Either way, water and soap will definately be part of the program somewhere down the line.

That said, size 31 (which would be sizing down two) was Atsui's and rolff's recommendation for a slim-tight fit which will stretch to a proper fit after a few weeks. BiG had recommended 30.

You could always buy a pair and then exchange for the correct size after you've tried them out (you may be out a few extra bucks shipping but it's better than nothing)

Tigerformula is 100% correct. 31 is your size if you are purchasing either O/W (one wash) denim or if you are purchasing raw denim and planning to soak prior to wearing. If you purchase O/W (one wash) denim it is ready to wear as is and you do not need to soak. If you are unsue about which size, I would recommend getting O/W if your size is available. As it is ready to wear you can try on the fit and make sure it is 100% what you want. If you do not like the size, the fit, or simply do not like PBJ you can exchange it for a different denim that you will like. Good luck!

I'm going with your suggestions to get a O/W for my first pair of PBJs in size 31, and just eat the shipping cost of an exchange if necessary. Once I establish my sizing I'll feeling better about ordering them raw in the future. Makes 100% more sense than my original plan.

Thanks, all. I'm glad we had this conversation.

I just got my jeans back. Perfect. The pseudo-flare was starting to drive me nuts. These are now the perfect pants.

hello all.

as u can see im pretty new to the forum. i hate to be another pain in the backside person asking 'what size should i get' but i really need some confirmation with this before i purchase.

im planning on getting a pair of pure blues raw in the xx-008 cut. i want the jeans to be as close to sizing in studio d'artisan sd-103 which i wear in size 33 that i purchased raw just over a year ago.

the fit and quality of this denim is awesome, but living in australia anything in the heavier weighted denims can be a little uncomfortable to get around in all year long with the weather we have.

when i bought the sda's i initially made the error of getting size 32 and having to fob them off and sell them online. im hoping to make the right purchase this time around the first time!

when i emailed BIG sometime ago i was given this response...

Sorry again for the late reply. For the PBJ XX-008 the raw size 31 or one-wash size 34 will be a close fit to the SD-103 size 33. The rise on the PBJ will be slightly shorter and has a straight leg as opposed to the 1/2" taper on the SD-103. The PBJ's will stretch a little easier than the SDA's, the one-wash version is much softer than the raw and will stretch a little more than the raw as well so this is something to consider.

2 sizes down does seem a little extreme, no? should i just size donw 1 size and do the 32? my fear is i get 31 and they end up being to tight or i get 32 and they end up being a little too loose.

many thanx.

i'd say go for a 33 raw or a 32 one wash for a regular fit, if you want a slim fit then size down one

or just measure your waist where you want the jeans to sit and go from there

You'll be fine I've been wearing my 007s since January, a few annoying days here and there but generally fine. Winters are no worries (I'm in Melb btw)

Hi I might be able to help you out a bit. I wear a size 28 in the SDA-103 and also just recently bought a 28 in the BiG XX-013. They were both un-Sanforized and raw when I bought them.

sorry, i forgot to mention how the sda's actually fit me. i said they fit me perfectly but that could be baggy to some and skin tight for others. theyre quite fitted in the top part of thigh and hip/butt area which i like. i dont want the PB's to be far off. can someone please explain to me the sizing advice i was given by BIG? sizing down 2 sizes does seem extreme.

km83 - melbourne is more forgiving for wearing heavier set denims, but in sydney where i live it can be tough ask some days, humidity in the warmer months turns u off wearing jeans like SDA's.

for the xx-008 i think im headng for the 32 raw.

thanks for the help guys.
