Looks like Ed just finished her off.

And ooh, Damien Hirst did something with skulls? I'm shocked.

Well it's similar to what the Japanese and Indians have been doing occasionally for hundreds of years, among others. So when people today do what people used to do, except worse, it's unique!

Forgive me, those were bad examples. More accurate would be Napoleon's sister, Pauline (who I would call a celebrity of her time) and this Canova creation:

Now that you mention it, i do see the similarity with some Indian stuff. The only sculpture i've ever actually studied is Ancient Greek and Roman though. I like Kate as much as the next guy, but really don't understand how she can be compared to Aphrodite in any sense.

I suppose (I didn't actually read the article - weak stomach for bullshit) that he meant it as a statement about contemporary beauty ideals (his originality has gone out the window), and that's valid enough. It's also something I'm very interested in but not as a novelty like this.

Does anyone other than fashion advertising types actually consider Kate Moss to be anything approaching an ideal beauty?

Hmm most women I know and a lot of my male friends. I like her too, she's got swagger.
