Workplace bullying is actually fairly common. I work in an industry that is strictly up or out, and it usually attracts the very aggressive Type A personality folks. Combine this with crazy work hours and a do-what-you-can-to-get-ahead attitude. As a result, you see a lot of bullying that happens, and people just turn a blind eye to it. There are some FS firms that were notorious for it, too. Lehman Brothers is an example that I've often heard...

OK, the guy was being a dick, but calling it "assault" to pull out someone's pocketsquare is defining deviancy down a bit, isn't it? Let's keep things in perspective.

EDIT: I say that as someone with nothing but the greatest respect for and newfound fear of bmulford's ninja-like ways and globetrotter's Daniel-Craig-like stair-fighting prowess.

Not that I disagree with you, but I'm merely saying that some people do not know when to stop, especially when higher ups turn a blind eye.

Let's just say that I've heard worse stories that've driven people to quit or worse, even at some of the top places (or rather, especially at some of the top places).

That said, I absolutely loved how bmulford handled it. Also, serious props to both him and globetrotter. Unbelievable!

Men in nice clothes shouldn't have to fight. They are either smart enough to talk their way out of the situation or they pay someone to fight for them.

Legendary. This is a hall-of-fame line; as good as "Brown is for farmer" and "do you like it, the lamb."

Why didn't you take your gloves off, give him a slap, and then demand that you work this out like gentleman at dawn..... not sure though who gets to pick the weapon ?
