I suspect we think alike then. It was a great idea for a shoe with a medium level of execution. This is sad because it was a very nice price for such a shoe.


i don't think their initial idea was bad. i'm with you that this model deserves a wider range of possibilites.

there might be a reason, why i feel restraint towards three eyelet derbies


1- They look extra long
2- They are an incomplete plain toe blucher
3- The lacing area looks like a buterfly
4- Angle of the picture
5- All of the above

no worries. i'm sure they look great irl. i want mine with five, though.

I think that two and three eyelet derbies are interesting. They have a minimalism about them that I find appealing.

However, they are currently rather 'hot' in the fashion world and that can only mean that soon enough they will 'cool' which is then followed by 'cold'.

In other words - I see them as a nice congfiguration for the sake of variety. But I'm content with just a pair or two. As I don't expect I'll be loving them in the long run.
