7 miles mid-afternoon. A fantastic run after running an intensely stressful meeting. I started out very slow and gradually picked up the pace. It felt great, and was just what I needed to recover from the meeting.

Oh man, rest it, rest it, rest it. I had that 2 summers ago from overtraining, and it lasted almost an entire year. Sucks.

Thanks man! Was so pumped for it.

Today 8.8 miles in beautiful weather bookended by interval hill sprints through mid calf length grass in the park, loving budget cuts.

In the recent history of education, has there been a budget increase? When will the politicians ever learn?

I'm sure there has been, you just don't read about it as that, its a hiring of teachers. The budget cuts I was referring to was in the Parks though, they used to cut the grass regularly, now you could have pythons roaming in the knee high grass. But we can spend $10 million to subsidize a citibank bike program...smh

26.2 in 3:34:31 - a 17 minute improvement from my best marathon time. All the added miles and a favorable course helped tremendously. Still need to increase mileage and speed work to get that elusive BQ and make the last 6 miles not suck so much.

Nice Dude!!!!
Stoked for you that is a HUGE PR - enjoy the rest!

For me 15 with a pretty good 9 mile progression/tempo.
643/609/605/559/554/601(concentration lapse)/548/545/545
The 8 faster miles felt pretty good, hard at the end.
I ran to my sisters house for dinner, about 15 miles away, and stopped at a VONS at mile 14. I was totally disoriented, and had a terrible time with the automatic checkout machine. I hate those things.

Ran 9.15 km with an average speed of six minutes 30 seconds per KM. A new personal best for distance for me. I want to try and do an even 10 KM tomorrow.

I was on vacation last week, but said vacation started with 3 days running ~70 miles of the WS100 course. Ran about 30 miles on Saturday, 19 miles on Sunday and 21 miles on Monday. Holy hell have I never seen hills like this before. The race later this month is definitely going to be interesting. To give you a quick idea, on Saturday my Garmin showed 14 miles of downhill before 3+ miles of uphill, followed by another 7 or so miles of downhill etc... the whole course is long waves of up and down, def not what I'm used to running in NYC.

Holy. cow. Good luck later this month!

As for me, I've reset my training schedule, leaning towards consistency and taking fewer rest days. Still the Sunday long run and still Tuesday track sessions, the rest of the time it's an easy 5 miler or so.
