This is very, very big. Miles Kreuger is sort of infamous in the musical world. He acquired the priceless Ray Knight films in the 70's and has simply let them sit there ever since. Ray Knight is an unheralded legend in the history of Broadway. He befriended ushers at playhouses in New York and began sneaking in a huge 1930's camera to film the shows. As far as anyone knows, this is the only existing footage of the greatest musicals in Broadway history. He filmed every show in the '30's and most up through the 1970's. To give you an idea of how precious this stuff is, these are some of the shows he recorded: Showboat, The Fantasticks, Gypsy, Gene Kelly dancing in Pal Joey, Oklahoma!, Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, etc. You get the idea. This would be like having recordings of Liszt in concert. It's that important. According to this HuffPost article, Kreuger is reaching out and has finally relented to getting this stuff archived and put into a proper museum. I sincerely hope it happens. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tom-gr..._b_103336.html
