I just found another store knocking off my concept.
It's getting ridiculous (sp) .
Denim Bar is a very genric name granted but to knock off my whole concept and to try to carry the same lines is just bullshit.
So I want to start a Denim Militia. Maybe I can give the Milita members somethig i dunno what, still thinking.
that way when someone knocks of my idea my denim milita ,in that area will sworm in and force the store to change their evil knock off ways.
I would like to have a poll on this but I am a computer marsupial!

I'm not an IP or Unfair Competition lawyer, but I don't think you have a legal claim against a store for carrying the same lines. There are a limited selection of desirable jeans brands, right? If the store was copying your logo, that would be a different story.

I can understand being pretty mad if they are being a copycat, but then again competition can be a good thing...as long as they are being fair.

Does this said store have an internet storefront?

Factional differences will soon lead to the Corduroy Militia, Waxed Cotton Militia and eventually, god help us, the Seersucker Militia.

I'm amused by the thought of a militia of seersucker, with boater hats and bowties.

I am in trademark letigation now for the use of the name DenimBar.
So if I expand into other areas I can have those stores change their name.

Armbands could be cool. I will work on it.

Good brands have a mileage radius to keep the exclusivity but on the regular people email me or come into the store and ask me I want to open a sotre blah blah blah and then wam and clone of my store is spawned.

I am flattered to a degree but to knock off someone out right is crap.

I do think that it would be a great way to break in some dry denim.
A little blood stain adds true character to a mans jeans.

You guys should go to the other denim bars, take a bunch of jeans down to the counter, and ask for your Styleforum discount. Also, comment on hoe you like the blog, or ask whether Mauro, or Dave or Emily, or someone, is working that day.
