Yeah, I said that. But who am I to know? Let me join in this mutual admiration society by repeating what I said six months ago: I have had many R-T-W makers send me shirts and ask me - "how can we make them cheaper but keep them looking the same?". On the other hand, in my entire career, I have had one R-T-W manufacturer send me a shirt and say - "Take it apart and tell me how to make it better no matter what it costs." I was so astonished I did what he asked and actually forgot to send the consulting bill. Now, Mr. Pit Bull, keep your damn Texan hands off my 170's Linen & Cotton. It's mine. Mine, mine, mine. Or I'll use your seven-fold for a dog leash.I recently got a Carlo Franco shirt from Chuck and this thing is spectacular. Easily the best shirt that I own, and IMO superior to the T&A, Kiton, Borrelli, and Attolini shirts that I have in my wardrobe.
... and over on AskAndy they say we're too fashion forward. OTW, did you check the inventory chart to see if there are any more available in your size? Just click on the "Live Chat" button, and I'll hold for you anything you want. Shirt Page BTW, thanks for the kind words. Â They are indeed a labor of love.Carlo Franco clothing and accessories are decidedly uncool. Â Apparently that is the greatest compliment that can be given here.
Those of you who have bought these fine shirts, can you offer me some advice on collar sizes? My neck size is 16.5 and, for most shirt brands, I usually buy a size 17, to account for shrinkage. For most shirts (e.g., Brioni, Charvet, Lorenzini, Zegna, etc.), this seems to work well for me. The one exception is Borrelli: their 16.5 RTW shirt is very close to a 17, so I buy 16.5 . From what I've gathered, the Carlo Franco shirts are similar to Borrelli in this regard, correct? Many thanks. This is the sort of stuff that leads to financial ruin. Â How can I get the remaining shirts in my size? I just got my first Carlo Franco blue nailhead shirt. Â Fabric is superb, and the collar is extraordinary. Â I have not seen a better collar in a long time. Â The shape has a "presence" and elegance that is rare. Â The way I can describe it best is to say that it is balanced. Â It is not the spread of the fashionista, it does not have multiple buttons at the collar, it does not scream "Look at me, I got one of them shirts that are trendy this week" look at all. Â What it says is "quiet elegance and power". In the manner of the best clothing, it doesn't look great but fantastic, Â without being obvious why it is even looking good. Â Once again, I am reminded of the value of passion in ones work. Â I admire the courage needed for such an undertaking. This project is clearly a labour of love and I wish them the best. -
I guess I am going to insult Carlo then, because I have seen a large selection of his ties, and some of them are decidedly cool (btw, JN3, you should stop in at Drinkwaters to see my new sportswear display (a lot more classic/relaxed - a lot less "hip" than the last display. Accented by my personal Engineered Garments bag, so keep your grubby hands off it) and to see a large selection of Carlo Franco ties, a lot of them from the Signature series. Really amazing, and some of them would definitely not look out of place on a "cool" ensemble. Actually, I am planning to use his cream on cream paisley formal tie at my wedding along with my Costume National tux with low rise pants with an Engineered Garments belt. Should give Manton an aneurism.Carlo Franco clothing and accessories are decidedly uncool. Â Apparently that is the greatest compliment that can be given here.

I thought that was ernest's role.the modern equivalent of the court jester
Ah, thus the problem with modern academia.I believe, profoundly, that one of the roles of the professional academic is to act as the modern equivalent of the court jester, holding up a mirror to the king's follies.
