I'm guessing they could make something a wee bit more conservatively style if the OP asks?? I don't think they're too "fashionable." Besides, if the OP is younger it wouldn't look too strange; as it would almost be more age appropriate

After looking through the threads on T.A.T., I would not buy one of their suits until they sort some fit issues out; EVEN IF they could do a suit that would be more appropriate for business/work/interviews, etc. In virtually every sample I've seen on this forum, the sleeve pitch is off and the armholes and shoulders are horribly sloppy fitting. I know the man behind T.A.T. offers great prices, but the one area where fit on off the rack suits often doesn't pan out for a lot of men is the shoulder / armhole area and from what I can see his suits are no better in that regard than off the rack. That is a deal-breaker for me and defeats the purpose of going through the time and effort of having an MTM suit done. Through discount stores and a few other sources I can buy suits that are essentially the same quality or better than his and the fit will actually be better than what I think he could offer me for the same or less money, at least based on the pictures posted. I suppose if you are super skinny (like a size 34 or 36 in suits) and really want a fashion forward suit for going out and can't find anything close to meeting your needs off the rack then T.A.T. is for you. This is not meant as an attack on T.A.T., just some observations.

Maybe they can make something more conservatively styled. My guess is most people who order T.A.T. suits in this forum don't ask for that though. The jackets are all too short and the lapels are far too skinny for a standard business suit.

No offense but, regardless of your age, wear one of those bum-freezer mod cut jackets with flood pants in a conservative business environment (where maintaining a conservative appearance is important) and see where it gets you.

Thats certainly not what i'm looking for.

I dropped off a leather jacket to my tailor today, and asked her about her thoughts on it, and she suggested not buying it, becuase she said in her experience most of the MTM suits require alterations afterwards.

I'm interested in your suggestions on what suit to buy.

I'm a skinny guy, my jacket size is actually a 37, though i usually wear a 38R. My waist is a 30....so i'm sure you can see my delema.

Have you looked at Paul Smith, Isaia, or Ralph Lauren(Made in Italy, or Purple Label)? These can all be had (discounted) at your price point.

I actually agree with a lot of your points. My suits arent geared to be worn in a conservative environment. There is some misconception of sort that I will make anything, a la Jantzen/Chan. I have a very specific cut....sure it can be altered to work in a business environment and some guys have asked for it, gotten it, and it's worked for them. But if you want a really conservative suit, I'm not sure I would recommend myself as a first option.

I present myself as an option to the fellow that is into generally overpriced modern suits like Thom Browne, Band of Outsiders, DiorHomme, Ozwald Boateng etc. Not an option for someone that is better suited towards, say, classics like Canali, Isaia, Borelli, RL, etc.

That is the general vibe I get from your company. Modern / fashion suits, not conservative / classic business suits.

If you want a business suit, don't worry about the pants being 2 inches to big in the waist. A tailor can fix that.

Also, watch the sizing when you buy online. I'm not skinny but I can comfortably fit into some 38 jackets because some of them are cut with 41-42" inch chests. A suit like that would be way too baggy on you. So make sure you get actual chest measurements in inches (get other measurements too) and don't focus solely on the tagged size. Also, I would be leery of buying from any online seller that won't take returns. Despite your efforts to measure and pick out something that you think will work for you, you might get stuck with something that doesn't fit or something you don't like.

Perhaps the most ubiquitous suggestion for a business suit you're going to get is Brooks Brothers. They offer a slim cut suit called the "regent" in a few different models. One of those would be in your price range and their stores are everywhere. I believe they are having a sale right now or a series of sales in the coming months, definitely talk to someone who works there to find out when you'd get the best deal.

Another option is scouring the racks at Filene's/Nordstrom Rack/Off Fifth/etc. I believe they are having a sale right now. Hickey Freeman (not H.F. ltd.) makes a nice high quality suit that is good for business. HF also offers suits in different cuts so you can try to find something you'd like. At an off-price store, these would be in your price range.

No matter what, I would look for a solid navy or mid to dark gray/charcoal suit or maybe a navy/gray subtle pinstripe. Do not buy a black suit for business or anything with a funky pattern / color. I would look for something in a year round weight.

I love your suits, if i'm ever in the market for a more extreme suit for hitting the club, i i will have you make one.

But I'm at a point now, where i want to expand my professional wardrobe.

That's not quite what GetSmart meant either... The danger of taking everything an anonymous internet person(cvac in this case) said at face value.
