Which one would you choose?
Does anyone know if Talarico is reachable by email and does sell online? Prices?

I chose Smith in real life, largely out of serendipity. I was passing, and impulse-bought.

I don't think you would be actually disappointed with any of the makers listed, provided you chose carefully within their ranges to find an umbrella(s) that suited your needs.

Nothing aginst the makers listed, i just like to stick to what I am used to. There is a guy that i have been using since I was still in school and he dose great work, unfortunatley he is local and runs a small bisnuess so he is not as well known as the guy you mentioned.

I went with Smith on the strength of one unit I fell in love with while visiting.
Very happy with it.

I have both both a Smith and a Brigg.

I like both, but the Smith, in my opinion, is a little more rugged and comes at a better price.

Also, in favor of the Smith was the fun I had picking it out in London. The store is great fun. George Bown of Bown's Bespoke (google it) has a review of James Smith. The experience of choosing the Brigg was a little more clinical.

I couldn't resist playing with all the fancy canes while waiting for my brolly to be cut down.

Own both Smith and Briggs, both are very well made, but the Smith is more rugged, with a thicker shaft and more rugged hardware. Smith is also cheaper.

Have had both. Quality seemed indistinguishable. I liked the Smith a little better, and it was significantly less expensive.

Talarico may make good umbrellas but he seems totaly dumb :

1) He built up a website in English on which you can not pay buy credit card but by bank wire yet his bank informations are not complete

2) No only doesn't he speak English at all but nobody in his staff does speak English neither

How ordering from him ?

I have two umbrellas that I think may be from Talarico but I'm not sure. They are from BB with a tag indicating they were made in Italy. If Talarico is indeed the maker, then the craftsmanship is excellent.

Although my Brigg is my "go to" umbrella, I consider the craftmanship of the two from Italy to be better.

Updating my own thread, at the end I got a Brigg from the factory shop (as noted in other threads here) great umbrella at a good price, shipment is expensive.
As per JayJay's BB umbrella, I don't think it's Talarico because Talarico lacks the industrial size to supply BB (IMHO), it might be from Maglia, an excellent maker, see website.
Paris also has a few nice shops

I don't know if Talarico makes BB's umbrellas, but they have a surpisingly large production capacity. They make house brand umbrellas for Barney's, amongst others. In fact, when I visited Talarico in Naples last September, I was told they would not deal with one-off orders from individuals until they had finished their seasonal production for their big retail clients after the holiday season.
