Japanese Online Stores Proxy Service ZenMarket.jp - Official Affiliate Vendor

Dear Styleforum users!

Today, we are happy to introduce our service – ZenMarket, which has recently become officially affiliated with Styleforum.

Some of you might have already heard or used our service to make purchases from Japanese online stores.

For those who have not tried it yet, we would like to explain in details, how our system works, and what are the main reasons you might want to use ZenMarket.

ZenMarket is a proxy service based in Japan.

We help our customers with purchasing various kinds of goods from Japan, however today we would like to focus on clothing in particular.

As many of you may know, Japanese mens wear brands are not that famous in the West compared to the big western brands. However, their creativity, design and materials are surely not inferior, or even sometimes superior to the western brands.

Western fashion lovers have praised and acknowledged the ingenious design and great quality of Kapital, COMME des GARÇONSBeams Plus, A Bathing Ape, Momotaro Jeans, Visvim and many others.

However, purchasing Japan based brands might be quite difficult.

We will explain below, why might be the case, and how ZenMarket can help you to get rare clothes from Japan in a blink of an eye, and for a very reasonable price.

Why is it hard to get products of Japanese brands?

1. They are rarely sold outside of Japan. Even if they are sold, usually only limited quantity of the product is sold. The price of the such products is also usually much higher than in Japan.

2. If you try to buy the products from Japanese online stores, it might be quite challenging if you do not know Japanese language. Automatic translators do not help much. ZenMarket have professional and well-versed in Japanese staff, who would be happy to help you translating descriptions of the products, checking final price, domestic shipping, as well as finding products for you.

3. The last and most important, many Japanese stores do not ship abroad. With ZenMarket's help, this problem wont trouble you anymore.

Why using ZenMarket is better than other proxy services?

Some buying proxy services offer a certain percentage of item price as a service fee. So if you buy expensive items, the fee will be costly. There might be a “system fee” too.

ZenMarket offers only 300 yen flat for every item and there’s no system fees.

When your item is shipped internationally, the Japan Post covers up to 20,000 yen in case of loss as a shipping insurance for free. If your item is valued more than 20,000 yen and you want them to cover its full price, you need to pay 50 yen in every 20,000 yen.

Some buying proxy services charge you the exact cost, others offer it as a paid service.

ZenMarket covers the full price of your item for free regardless of its item price.

One of the benefits in using proxy services is that you can save international shipping fees by consolidate your items into a package.

In some buying proxy services, you need to pay extra charge for this.

ZenMarket offers free package consolidation.

How to use ZenMarket

ZenMarket has simple and easy-to-use system.

This, combined with professional and helpful customer service team will make your trip to the exciting world of Japanese fashion as smooth and pleasant as it can be.

Below, we will explain, how to use our system.

Zenmarket's purchasing system may be roughly divided in two types:

1.Online marketplaces (stores)

2. Auctions

- Online Marketplaces -

These include large shopping platforms, such as AmazonRakutenYahoo! Shopping, as well as hundreds of smaller shops.

In order to purchase from online store on ZenMarket, you may use either of 3 options -

1. If you know the URL of the particular item you wish to buy (for example, http://www.kapital.jp/e-store/detail.php?id=K1302LJ136EK-236&key=2392&category=177), please go through the following step:

2. If you do not have the URL, and do not know how to find the shop you are looking for, you can use our search system in order to find needed item on a large shopping platform.

Lets say, you have chosen Rakuten.

Please, write the needed brand name in the search field.

For example, "Kapital".

If youre interested in an itemplease do not hesitate to add it to the cart:

Further steps are same as option 1.

If you do not have time for searching, you can always ask our staff for help, using

the button on the top of the page:

You might also be interested in looking through links on the Tab “Other Shops”. You may find some rare brands that you have never heard of – or a nice shop, that sells all the brands that you have searched for.

- Auctions -

You can also bid on Yahoo! Auctions in real time through ZenMarket.

The system is fully automatized.

The benefit of the auctions is that you can find rare clothes, that are not sold anywhere else, as well the low price.

*Please note, that most of the items on auctions are used.

**Bidding on auctions is not always safe. If you feel that seller is suspicious, please consult Customer Service before making a bid.

***Once you placed a bid you cant cancel it.

How to bid on Yahoo! Auctions

Yahoo! Auctions is the largest auction platform in Japan.

Everyday hundreds of rare clothes are put on auctions and purchased. Don’t miss the chance!

In order to bid, please press Yahoo! Auctions button on the main page

Type the name of brand in the search field, or choose from categories:

When you have chosen the item, please proceed to item's page, which looks like this:

“Buyout price” is a price, for which seller will sell the item immediately, not waiting for the end of the auction. Please note, that not all sellers have this option.

The current price is a price, which is set for the item at the current moment. You have to place a bid for higher amount than the current price. Once you place the bid, the current price will go up.

Below is various information about this auction.

If you do not understand something, or have doubts, please do not hesitate to ask question using the button «Ask a question».

The point of our bidding system is that everything is automatic.

Once you placed a bid, you do not have to do anything else. Please, kindly wait for the auction to end, and if you win it, we will purchase the item.

Once item comes to our warehouse, further steps are the same as described in online stores — case 1.

If you are outbid, the funds are immediately returned to your account.

In order to increase winning chances, you may use Sniper bid option.

Sniper bid is made automatically by our system 5-6 minutes before auction with automatic extension ends (or 1-2 minutes before auction without automatic extension ends) if your bid meets auction status at the moment of bidding. You can change bid amount or cancel it 10 minutes before the auction ends.

To use Sniper bid, please choose this option when bidding on the item

Optional Services

When purchasing precious clothes, especially used ones, it is natural to worry about their condition.

We offer a service of checking condition of the items and taking photos of them for only 500 yen per 1 item.

You can order the option when purchasing item.

We will take photos and upload them so that you can check condition of the item.

Nice! I've used Zenmarket quite a bit and I've always been happy with the service. I once asked the zenmarket team to send a sizing email to a store on my behalf and they took care of it without a problem. Glad to see you guys on SF!

can you do the reverse? I live in Japan and want some one to proxy things from US or Europe.

I've used zenmarket a lot over the past few months and been impressed with the service.

I've had the odd seller refuse to use a proxy service, but that's rare.
The English translation sometimes disappears for a few hours for no obvious reason.

Searching can be a little frustrating - I've got used to using 'Court' for coat on Yahoo, but I'm sure I'm missing a few tricks - if anyone's got any to share I'm always grateful.

Dear CityMap,

Unfortunately we only offer proxy service from Japan to other countries and we don't do the reverse.

Hope you kindly understand this.

Dear ManofKent,

Thank you for using our service.

We use Google translation. "Court" and "Coat" are pronounced as same in Japanese, so the translator might not be able to distinguish.

If you have any problems about reading the translation, please feel free to contact us from your account.

For UK users (I can't speak for the rest of the world) the SAL small packet option is worth considering - I've found it just as quick as the standard Airmail service, rarely taking much more than a week. EMS is quicker (around 4 days in my experience), if you're in a real hurry, but SAL is remarkably quick and is delivered by Royal Mail, rather than Parcelforce.

I personally just search the designer's name in the sitewide search and just sort by new and then check in the morning while eating breakfast. Searching by Y! JP sublisted categories for the designer is faster, but sometimes people list thing in weird categories that you wouldn't see (like listing in the sitewide sweaters category). This isn't consistent, but sometimes at the bottom of the page, looking at the related items can reveal some listings I would have never seen.

I find when I use FromJapan, when I ask them to repack my orders into smaller boxes they still end up sending me shirts, pants, etc. in bigger than needed boxes. How much does this affect shipping costs? It usually seems to cost 4000-6000 yen for shipping to Canada.

The one time I directly ordered a shirt off Rakuten the shipping came out to 1000 yen and they sent it in a very thin envelope, which was perfect.

Does Zenmarket have a repacking service to save space/reduce shipping costs?

@hayaoyamaneko  they do.  I've only had to use it a couple times but it was well-done and costs were reasonable.

I've no complaints about their packing - packets have always been strong enough (shirts typically come in a strong mailer, wrapped in cellophane/plastic bags first) and not excessively sized. I've not needed to use their re-enforced service.

I've used a few services, and this is the service that I personally use. In terms of fees, it's hard to do better, as long as your item can be bought directly from an auction or webstore. I always use the EMS service. Something else might be better for other locations.

Cheers,

Fok.

This is good to know about.

Great to have you guys here. I've been using From Japan but will give you guys a shot. Just wondering if you can declare your own value on the customs form like From Japan allows?
