Just in at Pediwear...

But can you guess the Northamptonshire based manufacturer?

10% off a pair for the first person to correctly identify the manufacturer...

It's good, but its not right! Trickers make a lovely monkey boot, of which we had a MTO a few years ago. However this one is made by somebody else!

Yes of course, the clue is there for the observant amongst us! NPS (who make Solovair) are coming out with quite a range of in stock styles which will very soon be available on our website. In addition to these there are a range of Solovair stock styles planned too. In the mean time we have those monkey boots on our shelves and waiting to go. I'll add them to the website later today. And of course momone if you would like a pair we can offer you 10% as promised - thanks for your reply.

Regards

Thanks, but unfortunately the solovair's lasts doesnt fit me very well
Oh no! Sorry to hear that!

Well I wonder whether our new footwear search filter facility will help you find another pair which will fit?

An update to this part of the site has been due since we over hauled the site design last year. We hope you find it useful - it should help you find what you are looking for a lot more quickly.

Any feedback will be gratefully received.

Regards

Mike

Got my 2nd order in from Pediwear!!

As much as I used to love AE, my feet simply doesn't meet their style (nor sizing)...also questionable build quality with my recent AE Malones.

The Loakes replaced my AE Daltons and I never looked back. The dainite sole has been extremely handy over this past winter. 8 months now and the boots still look good as new with minor wear.

Got my Barkers in today (4 days to ship from London to California !!!).

Ordered it in same size as my Loakes and it's a perfect fit. Between my Loakes/Barkers, I'm pretty much wrapped up for summer boots.

I've given up on AE now and will stick to Loakes/Barkers and Pediwear mainly as the cost is almost the same (if not better with discounts) but the fit/leather is more forgiving and better cuts, IMO.

Thank you for posting the pics, the boots look wonderful. It is considered to bring bad luck if you put shoes on the table in the UK to put shoes on the table. Is it just a UK think or do similar superstistions exist over the pond.

@pediwear I'm looking for a budget pair of brown oxfords and came across your Pediwear Craig MTO. Can you provide any information regarding sizing? Unfortunately I don't have any English shoes to compare against; my only dress shoes to this point are both Allen Edmonds on the same last. I know the standard advice is to just size down one full size for UK sizing, but do you have any more specific info to that shoe?

Is there a reasonable option for returning the shoes via mail if the sizing doesn't work out?

Hi @flvinny251
Thank you for your interest in this style. We do have a little more fitting information for you. In our section on Barker lasts http://www.pediwear.co.uk/newsitem/70.php we mention the Barker 446 last - which is the last this shoes is made on. Unfortunately the information might further confuse the picture since it essentially states that for most the shoe fits true to size but due to the extra height some customers find they need to reduce by half a size.

What size do you take I've the AE shoe? Do you find the shoes to be a good fit, a little tight or slightly loose? It would help to know whether you have a high instep?

With returns unfortunately you will be responsible for shipping them back - though this can usually be achieved at not too great an expense using your local postal service rather than the more expensive couriers.

We look forward to hearing back from you

Kind regards

Mike

Mike,

This particular last is known to be rather narrow, from what I understand. The standard advice I've read is to size down 1/2 a size, but go up in width. I take a 9E (wide) in it, and the fit is very good. I also briefly had a pair of Kent Wang oxfords, which I think are a more "standard" last, and a 9.5 fit fairly well, so it sounds like that advice is certainly accurate, at least for me. I have a very flat foot though, with a low instep.

Thanks for taking the time to advise me.
