I went to Centofanti tailors to get some d'Avenza pants fixed and a Castangia pant altered (I purchased this from Andrew Harris, an eBay seller I can heartily recommend you bookmark, in addition to Honest Goods, Worldclassconsignment, and Virtual Clothes Horse). He teased me with the jacket he is making for me, and he told me that the jacket will be featured in a documentary entitled "Bespoke tailoring around the world" or something like that. It is a double-breasted herringbone. This is funny, but it is not a joke. I asked that he model the jacket after the jacket worn by De Sica in a picture that is posted on London Lounge. I have to say, it is the most gorgious thing I have ever seen. It will be ready in 1 week.

David, I was a bit surprised that Centofani is actually making a similar coat for you, since you last mentioned that he was dismissive of the shoulder/arms eye ("for holding onto overhead tram railings") and of the waist pleats. How did you convince him otherwise?

I don't think he was dismissive, he just intended to demystify it for me. But ultimately, he really does try to accomodate, and I think even he was shocked by how beautiful his own work was.
