BUY IT ALL ALWAYS!
WHENEVER POSSIBLE!!!!

its easier to deal with a crappy item you got for cheap than the loss of a good one for next to NOTHING!
it means when you got a group, sometimes cherrypicking doesn't work if you leave the item behind you end up regretting!

@PLaydice

If that Bad Religion shirt is a S, or M, we need to talk, and by that, I mean I believe it needs to be mine.

I'll respectfully disagree with this. Buying everything you think might sell is a sure-fire way to spend a LOT of moeny very fast; those $3 items add up! ANd if they don't sell, that's a lot of money wasted.

Moreover, if you buy everything you think will sell, you'll end up with VERY cramped house, very, very quickly.

I suggest being selective.... ANd think to yourself what the odds are of the item you're considering being trash or treasure? (Hint: The odds aren't even! ;) )

You should not be having the dilemma over whether it well sell or not often.
The only reason I don't know if something is good / pure crack is if its too old old or obscure for me to realize. Which often indicates its good.
If you know how to shift the garbage quick, you better off not leaving gems behind. It really depends what sort of level your at, but often, if the item speaks to you, its for a reason. Listen

HF x LP for Michael Phelps? Did not cop ($8) due to minor wear, but the size seems to match his body type. I'm sure it'll still be there if you guys think it's worth picking up.

Psssh. talk to me when you find something made for Ken Phelps.

i thought very briefly about listing my greatest passes (vol 1) but it's too painful to bear revisiting.

my own experience is that i've got good taste and a healthy skepticism, and so i've found it best for me to stay aggressive when i'm buying. the ones that got away tend to seriously haunt me. kill or be killed i guess lol.

so i gotta agree with PLaydice. err on the side of copping.

if i've got too much stuff cluttering my place, it's time to get off ****** and sell. i got good stuff, it's not that hard.

In regards to the sneaker talk... Jordans are actually my original thrifting weakness. For my 30th birthday party a couple years ago my wife thought it would be fun to count how many pairs of Jordan's id bought that year alone and let people guess... It was over 180 pairs before she gave up ha (for my kids, wife, brother, uncle, etc...) Not just me. In regards to j's I will concur what has been said about only real value are ones which he wore during his playing days. Id also say the 9, 13 models have been decent as well. Overall they can be tricky because jordans signature shoes are faked way more often then any of the clothing things I find. Some of his variations on the signature lines are also very valuable. That being said an easy thing to at least put up a fake radar is if they are really crazy colors or patterns. Its fairly easy to tell if it's one of the signature shoes just by looking at the list already posted. Then honestly some fakes are pretty decent but each model is pretty easy to look at a couple quick things to check with a simple google check for reference. If anyone has specific questions feel free to pm me. Here's a few of them up in my basement.

MCM? Who wants MCM? I don't, and it's not for resale. I have an MCM teak/brass desk lamp with original shade in my office but no MCM matches anything in our house...we like clean lines but not MCM. Our house is contemporary, our style is eclectic rustic as you could say.

I'll post up the finished product...the two red chairs are vinyl and staying as-is. They're great as they match our exterior doors.

The four dining chairs that I'm reupholstering (the ones I think you're talking about) are much later than MCM, I'd say early 1970s, which is the style I love as our house is 1975. It will work. :slayer:

Sure post it,I'm always interested in wood (insert joke)

Ps I'm gonna disagree on the date with you.I'm gonna say late MCM just at the stage where it was turning into the stuff you are talking about maybe late sixties.
true MCM was the fifties and early 60s stuff.but I don't think they are 75,but I have been wrong before so who the hell knows

Try that in my area, where, outside the mom and pops, ties start at $7 and hit $15 pretty quickly if they have the words "Italy", "Brooks" or "Burberry" anywhere near them, and suits start at $40 and escalate to $75 and well above quickly on very similar criteria.

Just tell me the Maui Nix Spring Break shirt is vintage, and I'll be OK.

Maui Nix made/makes some sick shirts and board art.

Saw a side table the other day. Thought of you. But it seemed like plywood and the top had more rings than Jordan. Plus it was orphaned. Seemed like the real deal though, and the lines were clean. Passed, but I'm thinking I shouldn't have.

I have read a few times out here that 3 piece suits do well on eBay. What are the guidelines there? Do they still have to be certain labels? Reason I ask, I saw one today that was pretty nice in terms of condition and feel. Admittedly, I don't know enough about construction to really comment on that aspect. There were zero labels on any of the pieces though. No size, no fabric, no maker. Nothing. I ended up leaving it behind but I was curious if it was a mistake.

Really depends, but I generally only buy non name three pieces if they are tweed. They always seem to do well.
