Many things can be worth picking up, depending on what you spent on them. Hamilton has been making excellent watches for well over 100 years, I am currently wearing one and I love mine, however this one I am not familiar with. Is it swiss automatic or quartz movement? Automatic watches take a certain amount of pieces or "jewels" to run and they also require someone who knows exactly how to assemble these little pieces in order to make it run purely on kinetic energy alone. Quartz on the other hand has a battery to make all these parts run, thus making them far easier to assemble and operate. Know that answer and you'll know if it's worth anything and if you should fix it up or not. Also knowing if any/all that is plated (it looks to be) or not may also help.

Thanks...yes def plated. Not sure on the Quartz or automatic though

Funny, all this talk of pinstripe orphans. I've had some pics come across my tumblr lately of dudes rocking those with grey flannel trousers. Looks pretty good imho.

While I would never wear one, I have a hard time leaving a gorgeous EZ or Brioni orphan behind. I would never consider them a "brag". They are what they are... something that people will bid on and put cash in my pocket.

Crazy solid.  Still haven't found American Giant in the wild, bought a bunch retail for the wife last Christmas, in fact she's wearing some on the couch next to me.

This is my second one I've found. First one was last fall and was NWT. These are well worth the price, even at retail. Great stuff and well made.

Found 6 Chipp suits today. Unfortunately 2 were orphans. The nicest and most recent as made by Martin Greenfield. That one just happened to be one of the orphans . :fu: Saw the suits themselves don't do that well anyway and ended up leaving them. I did manage to find a turntable, though. Dual 1218. Works and sounds great. Still has the original Shure Hi-Track cartridge too. $10. Who was looking for a cheap starter turntable again? This will take the place as my spare TT so I now have a Technics SL-23 available (at cost). It just need a little mechanical attention.

Also found a couple pairs of brand new running shoes.

@Nataku
if the Chipp suits were in good shape you made a mistake.  No reason you wouldn't get $100-$150 with buy it now and a month or two of patience.

Dang. Well a member expressed interest in them so I'll go back on Wednesday. Thing is, they didn't say Chipp. The label looked the same but just had a "W" and New York underneath. There was a tux from the same donor a few weeks ago that had the same label but the trousers had "Chipp" on the braces buttons. Can anyone shed any light on the "W" label. Am I correct in assuming these are Chipp?

Hmm, maybe you made the correct decision. I think the W stands for Winston Tailors, and while its closely related to Chipp, it doesn't carry the same appeal.

I've seen that a time or two on older chipp suits on eBay. I'm pretty sure the "W" stands for "Winston", the family that currently owns the Chipp brand. I'd give Mr. (Paul) Winston a call at
212-687-0850
or at least shoot him an email at [email protected], he's supposed to be very personable and quite willing to discuss the history of his shop.

I thought some of you LA dudes might be interested that I'm running a little PTO sample sale at my office in LA this Saturday. (That's the office, above.)

10-4, and we'll have free beer, plus tons of pocket squares deeply discounted (about 2/3 off), some records, some vintage stuff, first crack at our new ballcaps, a bunch of fabric, that kind of thing.

2404 Wilshire #9A, LA CA 90057. Right on MacArthur Park, just west of downtown. Look for "Maximum Fun" on the callbox to be buzzed up.

Any chance you'd consider doing a pocket square mystery package for those of us on the east coast? Something along the lines of three random squares for X amount?

He couldn't help Wes decipher a vintage tie.

Don't call Paul if you are crunched for time! lol He possesses a wealth of information and likes to impart about an hour's worth of it per call. Frankly, I could listen to him talk about Chipp and fashion for hours.

Have these in blue. Love them. Paid $35 for them at finish line.
