140 g/m² .insulation. The previous poster was referring to the Node DOWN.

You're right. I was thinking of the Node Down since it was from this Winter's collection. It is definitely a well made garment albeit pricey.

Hey thanks for clearing that up guys! I ended up pulling the trigger on a Lyra Grey Node IS for $550 USD, which I don't think is all too bad. Really, slick piece in my opinion.

I was wondering what you all thought of that Smart Parka kickstarter that has been gaining a lot of traction? It honestly looks like it may be able to compete with some more of the Canada Goose crowd market...although at ~$200USD, I may or may not invest...
That said, without the GORE, it's definitely a different breed from Veilance. Still don't know if I'm sold quite yet, but it is certainly versatile: http://bvwPMtuR.kckb.st

Last thing we need is another quasi-goose. They literally took the Chilliwack, Langford and some variation of the Moose Knuckle Crystal parka and threw on shittier zippers and fabric. I'm not even a CG or MK fan and I find this offensive.

$740 retail? Rubbish. Who wears a scarf with a winter parka for purposes other than aesthetics? Oh look here are some flimsy, sorry "flexible" leather gloves. I don't think anyone has ever asked for an iPad pocket. The extendable length, though gimmicky is cool. For $300 or $400 you can get a Camosun on sale no problem or a Koda from @Caligari and I.

My apologies, I really sick of this pseudo-goose fever.

Anyone have experience with the Partition Coat? Interested in picking one up but I'd like to know some things. Is it wearable in SS or is it really a FW jacket? Note: I get cold easily, so since it's not filled I feel like it'd for for SS for me. Their sizing chart says XS is a 36, and I'm usually a 34 at 5'7. I've read that Veilance wears a little big; will it be too big assuming I'll mostly only be layering a sweatshirt underneath?

The Partition is your basic Gore shell but in a Mac style. I see no problem wearing it when there's a nice breeze. Veilance tends to fun small with the Field and Partition being the exception. I take a small in the Actuator and Composite. I've tried on a the Partition and there is more volume in the chest but not overwhelmingly so.

Thanks for the info. I feel like it might still be a bit too big for me, I should probably hold off until I can actually try it in person.

Which Veilance is best for all round year use ? I was looking at the Composite but not sure about the different material used on the back of the jacket and how waterproof it is.

It's pretty much the same thing used on the Isogon, save a slighter denier. Depends on where you live. I would reason the Align or Field since they are robust on their own and can be layered with.
