Scattered over the past several pages, I have counted 5 or more for the 2030 and only 2-3 for the 110. A lot of comments re the 110, but few who said they were actually going to buy it. Looks like we need to have some further discussion to bridge this decision.
I think we have a week left so we still have time. I just cant fit the 2030 so im gonna petition hard for the 110. Hey Fok, could you tag this to 13 in the OP? Thanks!

A wider last is better for this makeup. I've always been against the 110 in past discussions but if the inspiration is the photo that's been floating around this thread, than it needs to be a wider last. Don't get me wrong I love the 2030 but 110 is just a better last for this makeup. IMO.

Not sure I'll have enough money to get this boot, depending on what else happens, but I agree that the 110 is much better for this build.

I'm willing to do with this boot whatever the majority decides, but knowing the leather (we did a makeup using it already), I'd go with either the 110 or at very least, a rounded toe last like the 1035). That is a stylistic decision, of course. If you want it to eventually have a gothy-ninja or "ye old beat up oxfords" look. then the 1035 with tonal stitching would be a good combination. If you want the boot to look like it does in the picture, 110 with contrast stitching.

23. Model: Service boot
Last: 2030
Leather: Navy Latigo
Leather (tongue): Roughout natural CXL (open to change here)
Eyelets: 7 antique brass eyelets
Midsole: natural
Sole: Dainite
Comments: unstructured toe, pull tab, tonal stitching, brogue toe cap

I thought the previous discussion has lead to black or best matching tongue, and also partially structured toe?

Pull up the quotes, especially from the OP, and I'll change the OP. Lots of discussions about different proposed models flying around, and it's hard to keep up.

Cheers,

Fok.

I'm with you on the 110 - much more comfortable fit and I like the more traditional work boot shape. As others have suggested, we may need to rally the 110 support and consolidate our efforts! Not that I'm prejudiced, but #6 is a fantastic make-up by a really great guy (oops...that's me!)!

I have yet to hear anyone on their deathbed say, "damn, I shouldn't have ordered those badass brown workboots!" In fact, I would go so far as to say that these boots will actually last you until your deathbed! Do I hear "I'm in for #6!"...anyone? Anyone? Bueller...?

You can change it to this. I believe the discussion remains on the number of eyelets but rest is agreed with

Service Boot in Navy Latigo
Last: 2030

Structure: Unstructured or Partial
Heel Tab: No
Tongue: Black
Sole: Dainite
Mid Sole: Natural
Eyelet Type: Gunmetal
Eyelet #: 7 or 8
Upper Stitch: Tonal
Sole Stitch: White
Laces: 1 set – 2 tone leather, 1 set – Waxed Lace

Synthese originally proposed the Scout 1035:

The Echo Boot

Model: Scout
Last: 1035
Leather: Guidi off-white calf leather
Eyelets: 7, blind
Midsole: White edge paint
Sole: Wedge, mini-ripple (cream)
Other: Unstructured toe, pull tab, off-white waxed cotton laces, tonal stitching throughout

But on the updated proposal, it is now the Service 2030:

1. The "Echo Boot" by @Synthese - inspired by Hoth.
Model: Service boot
Last: 2030
Leather: white roughout (or off white, TBD)
Leather (tongue): white smooth
Eyelets: 7 white
Sole: White mini-ripple sole
Comments: unstructured toe, plaintoe, white edge paint

Was that a typo or did Synthese change his thinking about the boot. Doesn't the original vibe change with a 2030? It doesn't seem that the narrower toed 2030 would be closer to a sneaker as Synthese first wanted....

Is the above proposal changes what we saw on the first mock-up by kindofyoung? I liked how that looked.

Thanks

The 110 isn't even a traditional workbook shape though… The 160 you posted was, as is the 310.

You are right, I'm sure. I wish I was more familiar with the 160, all I know is that the 110 is a fantastic last - I have 3 (soon to be 4) pairs in the 110 and I love it! So comfortable, I can walk all day in them! Perhaps not as chunky work boot like as the 160 or 310, maybe more of a toned down work boot - a crossover type of boot.

That's simply not true. The 110 is a very traditional workboot shape. Not all workboots were always sprung toe.

I really hope this boot makes it through to the voting. It doesn't seem like Viberg is going to restock their mocha any time soon, and it doesn't seem to be a wildly available leather elsewhere. I would be in on this in a heartbeat.

I'd be interested in this makeup, what kind of timeframe are we looking at if it goes through? Have a couple other pre-orders coming so I can't afford to have too much overlap.

Also do you have any more pictures of the leather? I think the Ebony Latigo would look good.

I think Fok could answer your question about timeframe best...Fok?

Stickydonk and I are thinking that the best look for this boot would be a brown harness leather along the lines of this:

It's a great classic heritage workboot brown, it will look amazing on this build with the vintage cats paw heel and vibram 700 sole!
