We have had this fashion for double monk strap shoes for several years now. Is it too late to buy a decent pair? When I say decent I mean shoes that are well made and likely to last many years. I do not buy shoes that do not meet my definition of well made.

I'm still a fan of the double, but have lately seen many singles that work better for me.

If you like double monks, absolutely buy yourself a pair and enjoy wearing them. The fact that a few too many people may wear them badly or because they think they're in fashion is no argument against them. Quality clothes and accessories (including shoes here) that fit, are coherently combined and worn with confidence will look good.

Double monks are my personal favorite shoes, especially in suede.

This same type of thread pops up every month or two and the results are about 50/50 each time.

I own Williams in black. May get the buffalo tan next.
