If good shoes are supposed to expand by up to half a size, does that mean i should be buying shoes that feel a little snug (but comfortable) in the first place?

Does that apply also to boots? What about suede? Same treatment?

Depends on the boot, lace up boots I just treat like shoes, jodhpurs and Chelsea's I want very snug as nothing is holding your foot in except the fit. I personally haven't found suede to make any difference, except maybe liking it more and more as I wear it.

I have 3 shades of brown, dark, oak, parisian brown, 2 black, burgundy, gray, tan suede.
I like them all! If you pin me down I like the Lobb parisian brown museum and the Carmina burgundy best.

I've seen your Tan Suede!! I'm gonna approach StC to have that made but in a darker suede! Though, without the storm welt.

I'll probably have to do them sight unseen, so can someone tell me more about the two?

Is it the Kudu and Calf suede?

Quoted:

A slight modification of the Goodyear welt for rougher climates is known as the Storm Welt. Storm welt construction uses a welt similar to that of a goodyear constructed boot but wider. The extra width allows the welt to be bent upwards, creating a seal around the junction between the upper and the mid-sole. Aptly named, the Storm welt is generally considered to offer greater moisture protection than a Goodyear welt.

From what i can see, it leaves an unsightly stitching exposed and doesn't fit what i want aesthetically from a pair of shoes.

Kud has a more pronounced nap, I've done that on all mine so I can't even remember the other one.

Anyone say button boots? Enzo Bonafe....
Tan is a great color. I know it's pretty casual but it's great. Wearing my new EG Shannons today:

Why, Oh Why do you keep doing this to me? Just when I thought I had forgotten all about them.

Ah Man, now they're stuck in my head and I can't get them out. LOL
