I've enjoyed my Velasca's quite a bit. Definitely a good deal in that price range.

In terms of Velasca: was actually considering their ankle boots/chukkas. Which shoe did you get? How was the sizing?

Thanks all.

About the Velascas, I have the same question, how is the sizing? If you could compare it to other brands, or give a measurement, that would be super helpful.

I purchased some loafers but I'd say they're true to size. Maybe a touch narrow but that's about it.

Pics? It's good to have affordable alternatives to other brands like Carmina, EG etc

Robert Jones has a ton of EG out now. Just popped in yesterday...yikes. CAD:GBP hath not been kind. I badgered them down from 1450 to 1290+HST w trees thrown in on a gorgeous burgundy captoe. Insanely comfortable + look awesome. Big wide last in US 10.5. Perfect.

These would be my first EGs ever and I have no Lobb neither (lol).

Didnt pull the trigger tho (theyre set aside) as this is still an exorbitant amount for one pair of shoes. OTOH it's my bday in a couple weeks...feel free gentlemen to suggest the online duties roulette option or o/w.

Perhaps waiting 3mos - 3yrs for oil to restore our petrodollar would turn out to be the wisest choice..could be awhile tho.

You're really not that far off from Saint Crispin's at that price point....which is infinitely more MTO'able...

Sometimes in life you just have to treat yourself... This will be 100% your call, and only yours. Sometimes if it feels good; do it. Often regrettable, often great. SF is also not the place to come for shoe purchase advice ;)

In terms of here vs. abroad + potential taxes. @ $1290+13% with in person fitting & trees I don't think you can beat it vs importing. Very likely you will get hit with tax
