Hello to everyone from Budapest. I visited the Vass shop and workshop yesterday - the shoes were everything I expected and more. Time to see some sights now - I'll give a full report when I get back. Andrew

I am looking forward to the report, Andrew.

I have Mr. Vass' book, which is very nice. I have no doubt that the construction of his shoes is very good. But what do you think of aestetic factors such as style and "finishing", i.e. polishing and so on? How do his shoes compare to English shoes in this respect?

Are they really only $400? Even for the first pair? Balint in Vienna charges more than the double of that price.
