Slim Fit Khaki's/Chino's - Page 96

Just read many Dockers Alpha Khaki's review on their website, and nearly 50% of all the reviews complained about skin-tight legs, way to tight legs. So then what? I've just sent back some J Crew Classic chinos because the waist was too high so I might try J crew urban slim fit.

For anyone who've both tried the Dockers Alpha Khakis and J Crew Urban fit, would you say that the J Crew one is less tapered?

A lot of those people complaining are probably used to regular fit clothing. I used to have the Urban Slim chinos and I tried the Alpha Khakis. If my memory is correct I think the Alpha Khaki runs slimmer.

I have a pair of Alphas, classic fits, and urban slims, all in sz34. The rise on both JCrews is about the same. The only real difference is that the urbans are slightly slimmer in the thigh and have more of a taper. They're right around 7.75" on my 35.5" essentials and 8.2" on my classics f I recall. Both JCrews are cut fuller and with less taper than the Alpha. Almost a bit too roomy....13" thighs I think?

The Alphas are perfect from the knee up, and the urban are great from knee down. For me anyhow.

I think I've posted this before, but here is the J Crew chinos size charts, detailed:
138

i have 2 pairs of alphas.

i find the crotch/thigh area to be a slim fit, and the knee-caps and down to be a skinny fit. i actually like the look. for what its worth i cant lift my pant legs above my calves. theyre definitely a skinny leg.

who makes something with the same quality as the unis gio, only with a higher rise and fuller cut? i'm looking for saturated colors (navy, crimson, pine green) with no fades.

Has anyone tried J.Crew's 484 Slim Stanton pant? I love mine.

Yes, I love em too. Have 2 pairs now and wanna get a third. One issue I had was the waist stretched a bit after wearing so I had to size down.

I got some slim fit chinos from Asos and the stitching on them is coming apart after just two or three washes.

Just a heads up for everyone thinking about these chinos, they fit great but the quality is poor.

Any chance you have the thigh circumference for the Classic fit (specifically for the 30&31 waist)? I'm a bit nervous about the slim thighs on the Urban Slim Fit as it looks like I'll have to size down in the waist given the vanity sizing.

Does anybody know why the Dockers Alpha khakis are so sporadic in sizing? One pair of my 31x32 (unaltered) fits me perfectly with a pretty slim leg opening, while my other 2 pairs of 31x32s are really weird (1 is tighter in the thigh, but slims down. the other one is the same size in the thigh, but doesn't slim down nearly as much as the other two pairs).

TL;DR: 1 pair of my alpha khakis are tapered way less than the other 2 pairs, despite having the same tag size

edit: just measured them. two pairs are about 7.25 inches while the other pair is nearly 8 inches...

I suggest buying Alpha khakis directly from Dockers.com.  They waived the return shipping charge on everything I bought that had inconsistent sizing.  What they lack in quality control they have made up for with customer service for me.

So far my experience is the buckskin color is the most inconsistent.  I have found they also stretch out a fair amount, in the seat and waist mostly.  Don't pay retail for them but they are always 20-30% off anyway, worth it at that price for me.  FWIW they fit me pretty good and I'm 5'10"ish and 140lbs, so yeah pretty slim.

Dockers and Levis, the same company afterall both have serious sizing issues.  I have 3 or more pairs of 514 jeans and they are all over the place, they vary by several inches in length, waist and thigh/leg measurements.

Hi, I can't seem to find a comparison for this, but I wear 511's, and am looking for a chino that fits similarly.

Could someone tell me how the dockers alpha (or any slim line if there are slimmer ones) fits VS Levis 511 jeans? Any help is much appreciated.

Does anyone have any info on the differences? Which is slimmer? Etc.

I've tried both. I think the Alpha khaki runs slimmer. I didn't care for either though and I've settled with the J Crew chinos in 484 fit.
