Just a heads up to all you Ebayers, I'm sure most of you are pretty savvy already.

For the past two days I've received supposed emails from Paypal notifying me of a payment sent to some person for some product that I did not purchase. Included in the email is a link to "dispute" the charge. I got a total of 4 emails in two days.

I was quite suspicious. I did not click on any links. I looked at the sender address and it was something like "paypal-us.com"

I logged onto the real paypal website, checked to make sure there was no such bogus charge, and forwarded all the 4 emails to [email protected]

Be careful.

I've seen some next level fraud ****, where there is an actual ebay listing (for example, one listing result out of many from an actual search). You click on the actual ebay listing and there appears to be a script embedded into ebay which takes you very quickly to a phishing site. The site makes it look like you were inadvertently logged out of ebay and wants you to log back in.

I get about a dozen of these a day. Unless the email is addressed to you by name i.e. Dear Mr. EL72,... just delete.

Just go directly to the eBay site and don't click any links from emails and you'll be fine.

this is just great, there are alot of ebay emails sent to me regarding my favorite sellers and such, and i usually go click on links through there to access the new merchandise listings.

however, i am sure it was legit, as they listed real auctions from these sellers.

but still, i am smarter than this, but many times i go through ebay and email mindlessly and many times i dont remember what i did .

This is different though. This is an actual ebay listing which comes up from an ebay search. Everything up to and including clicking on this ebay search result is "legit". Once you click on it, the listing has something embedded which will start the **** rolling. I will try to show you an example if I can.

Like I said, next level ****.

I've seen these show up on the top of eBay listings pages but it's usually a Appreciation pic.

Tarmac, do show us an example of what you are talking about, if possible. Sounds like the stuff I got was elementary level, by comparison.
