Has anyone participated in this or better yet, does anyone have some inside info on the company or quality? If the quality is there not a bad alternative to a pair of Aldens. Def. like the diplomat the best

Their kickstarter seems to be getting a lot of buzz https://www.kickstarter.com/thursday-boot-co-thursday-everyday

I have a pair of Diplomats on my feet now. Just got them this morning but so far I am loving them. They were a little stiff out of the box but with just a little walking today they already are starting to break in.

I am looking forward to putting some miles on these.

I just got mine and love em! At $200 they fit nicely along side some of the other boots I have in the $300 range. No need to compare them to other boots unless you already own a pair of Alden's. If you need a nice dress boot but have a budget of $300 I would say buy these. If you have a budget of $500-$700 then buy Aldens or Vibergs. It is up to you what you value at the moment

Going to bump this thread. How are they holding up? How's the leather? Have you had to resole?

I have no issues with mine. They are holding up just fine and look even better after some months of me doing everything from hiking to just walking around.. They are comfy as hell so great for anything

Oh and no resoling done

Here are recent instagram posts with them

I just got a pair of these. The Whites I ordered a year ago have been a perpetual issue, and are now being replaced with a completely different boot. Since the new build time hasn't been specified yet, but is likely to be in the 8-16 week range, I went looking for a pair of shoes to tide me over and found these. Just have them on my feet for the first time today. I ordered a 10 which is my normal size and they fit fine. Obviously, they're a far cry from the out of the box comfort of a made to measure shoe (Whites based me off a 8.5FF) but they're close enough, and I'm sure the fairly lightweight leather will break in quickly. The TBC shoes are no where near the quality of the Whites or Nicks, but for $200, they're actually quite good. The finish work is all very clean, and I expect they'll exceed the normal performance I get out of a $200 shoe. To be honest, if TBC existed when I went looking for shoes last year, I'd own three pairs of these and no pairs of Whites. While the Whites were a far superior product, they've been a pita to own, have spend at least as much time at the factory as they have on my feet, and at the end of the day, I'd rather have a $200 shoe that I can throw out when I have an issue with it, than a $500 shoe that I have to treat like some kind of investment.

TBC, if you're reading this - great job identifying the market and executing.

normally wear a 7 in most shoes, 6.5 for dress shoes.. the 7s were slightly loose/big and considering leather generally breaks in and stretches figured i need to size down. looks like the one size they don't carry is a 6.5 for whatever odd reason.. anyone have an idea on how much stretch there could be ? considering possibly getting a size 6 as that's the only one that might possibly work for me but also thinking it might be too small.. just wondering if anyone has thoughts to that ?

^ I've found they stretch pretty quickly. I've had mine three weeks - have worn them probably a dozen days in that time, and they're comfortably broken in.

I ordered the diplomat which is probably the best 'cheap man's Indy'.

Received it today and it's going back for a refund. Didn't even have to look hard but on one pair, the eyelets are totally misaligned. Also, the leather appears to be thinner than what I expected so I doubhgt these will hold up over time like other boots in the price range.

Looking at Wolverine Courtland now as my 2nd option.

Can someone provide me with a little guidance about how Thursday boots fit relative to other brands in terms of size.

For reference, here are some sizes on a few other pairs Of shoes I own:

Wolverine 1000 mile- 11.5
Johnston Murphy dress loafers - 12
Nike Air Max - 12.5
Alden Indy on Trubalance last - 11
Alden -Barrie last - 11.5
