Strange thing happened today - it got cold again! So I retried my decant of Cuiron from winter storage and applied liberally. But before I did that, I shaved, and used a new Bay Rum aftershave - Ogallala Bay Rum.

Between the Bay Rum and the Cuiron, it's a whole new world. The cloves in the Bay Rum mix well with the orange/leather notes in the Cuiron, and the first thing Mrs. Thomas said was "you smell like Christmas". Which is a big positive, compared to some of her more recent proclamations.

Too bad that bay rum aftershave burned like a blowtorch. Doubt I could use that every day.

Cuir Mauresque. For some reason, today and last time I wore this, I am really picking up on the amber, which I never noticed in previous wearings.

Today was the first time in a long time that it was cold enough to wear Bogart Pour Homme(My favourite).

In case you don't know about it, http://fishbonefragrances.blogspot.com/ is great for fairly priced decants. I just ordered some from her and she was very nice with personal email responses, quick shipping, nice packaging and she even included a small sample tube of a similar fragrance of the ones i ordered, plus an individually wrapped swedish fish candy. I might order something from there in the future. They have some decent stuff there too.

Givenchy Pi today morning. Will go with Terre D'Hermes tomorrow morning (except only one spray, two I'm feeling really daring, since last reaction to it wasn't exactly great)

Grey Flannel again.

Despite this being a rather budget scent, it is quite well-done. The violet note is unusual enough to be slightly androgynous. Also, it lasts a rather long time.

Bay Rum aftershave, and a spritz of Diptyque L'Autre. It's a bit out there (cumin), but I'm enjoying it quite a lot.

This is one scent that is truly unique. Kudos to Geoffrey Beene, love his designs too.

Today my SoTD is: Noveau Bowery by Bond No. 9. Fine blend of Limes, Indonesian Patchouli, bergamot, etc.

Have not smelled Grey Flannel in ages, recall it as being too dry and austere for my tastes. Then again that was 20 years ago. Must try again.

Today - a Saturday at the office - Unforgiveable multi platinum. Probably should have named it Indistinguishable. Light, citrus-y, a decent well-balanced blend.

Testing Vetiver Extraordinaire. I have yet to really love any vetiver-centered fragrance, but this is the best one I've tried so far. Cool, dark, green, like a walk in the forest, which is essentially what Frederic Malle said it was supposed to be.

Also sprayed a little of the Body Shop White Musk for Men on my hand today while out walking around downtown; a very nice musk for $24 US, IMO. Smoky at the onset, a little reminiscent of Fumerie Turque for a few minutes.

A friend of mine refused to stop smelling me the other night when i came over wearing CDG: Sequoia. I had to give her the little vial i had (i already have my spray decant) to get her to stop. It was almost creepy how much she liked it. When i ordered from fishbone, she sent me a small vial of creed: bois de portugal with sequoia as i guess she felt they were similar. I can't wait to try it tomorrow.
