Please critique the fit of my new suit

College student here. I'm gradually building up my professional wardrobe. After having a Target suit as my first, I thought I would invest a little more money on a better suit as my next. I got this 38R solid navy Cerruti 1881 for $400 at Century 21. It seems to be half canvassed based on the pinching test and stitchings at the back of the lapels. Don't know about the brand itself, seems to be mixed reactions based on past posts. The suit is pretty slim fitting. Even though I'm wearing a BB slim fit, it's not slim fitting enough for me since it's bunching up in the arms of the suit. I've only gotten the trousers hemmed. I would probably need to get the sleeves shortened. What do you guys think of the suit?

-the arms may need to be altered somehow (sorry don't know how...not a tailor), obviously because of the weird creasing. does the creasing happen naturally when your arms are resting by your sides? if it does, then it's not a good fit.

-the sleeve length looks fine, you don't need to shorten them. maybe even lengthened by 0.25" but definitely not shorten. however your right sleeve looks slightly shorter than your left.

-what kind of shoes are those? i think you need to get some real dress shoes. =p

I would recommend getting the back cleaned up a little and adding a bit of waist suppression.

As for the creased sleeves - I'm guessing they are a byproduct of his holding his arms out past where they normally fall.

Thanks for the comments. The shirt probably didn't make the suit look too hot. I've added another image without the shirt.

Yeah, I was wearing casual dress shoes. Definitely need to get some proper ones.

How about now without a shirt, or imagining a slimmer fitting shirt?

The jacket looks rather odd to me- I think its quite a bit too short when compared to the 'rule'. Then again, taste varies...

i also think your seat could be taken in a little...there seems to be a lot of extra fabric hanging around that area when you're standing up straight.

I like it, especially for someone initially putting together something for his professional wardrobe. You did good and better than my first effort at finding a good fit. I wear my jacket about that length and the sleeves too though many of my friends wear their jackets a bit longer. For the style someone your age is striving for I think you are going in the right direction. thesartorialist Scott Schumann would probably also like the look too. The only thing I might have done is gone for something in a pinstripe in classic color like gray and blue.

I was a little concerned about that at first, especially since I picked a rather conservative color for job interviews. But after looking at the GQ suit guide, the length seems to be modern enough. Though I hope the whole look of the suit is conservative enough for a job in the financial industry.

Thanks for pointing that out. It does seem rather baggy there.

Thanks for the compliments. I already have my Target Merona gray pinstripe suit. Don't worry, navy pinstripe will be my next.

Why does the color look different (and not standard navy) in the second set of pictures?

The jacket looks odd because the pockets are set high. The flaps, meanwhile, are not flattering for the body type - maybe they can be tucked in? To tell you the truth, the pants don't look good from the front, and taking them in a little around the knees and seat might not be a big improvement. Making the various changes others suggested will help the overall look.

With that suit and shirt, the tie ought to be more colorful.

I don' know if its low quality pics but looks like you have a low right shoulder need probibly a half pad. Also center seam needs to come in and you need the collar lowered. Again the pic quality is low so i don't know if its just the picture showing the ripples. Your pants need work in the seat and thigh but hard to tell from the pictures. Hows the waist?

The sleeve look fine but i'm guessing you have a long arm and thats throwing off the pictures. Length looks fine as it covers your seat.

A lot of attention seems to be shifting towards your hips which appears unproportionally large. Just curious, how high/low are you wearing your pants?
