I'm glad you liked it. Drinking it when it was first out on shelves was a lot different than it was 6 months later. Fresh it was like it still had cedar chips floating in the bottle, it was that much cedar smacking you in the mouth. 6 months later it mellowed out a bit more, but still had that cedar taste, just not near as much, and then another bottle right about the time it "was past it's prime" was a lot more mellow. I hope they bring this back in a couple years.
That Cigar City 110k+OT I had last night was great. Reminded me a lot like a RIS, and kinda tasted a bit like Goose Island's Night Stalker, but had a more fruity tartness, compared to NS had more of a dark chocolate sweetness to it. I'd give it an A for sure.
Rambo,
putting the finishing touches on a well overdue box of beers. it's stout-heavy. is that OK?
Iowa has plenty of King Henry. I have 4 waiting for me that my brother picked up. I actually could have picked up another few today while I was on my hour drive beer run if I knew someone was looking for them. Is it real good stuff? I just wanted it since it was the first time in a bottle, and it sounded good to me.
Picked up some of the 2011 Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad that was just released this week as well. I have 2 bottles from last year I had set aside until the new batch came out.
