I finally signed up...hello all!

i have a brown leather messenger that for about 6 months i used and stocked regularly. then.....it started to become a burden. it was big for what i needed it for. I guess you could say the "first bag newness" wore off.

so.....

Here's what i need and want: a document sleeve/envelope.

this looks like it will fit the bill and all i need it to hold are my wallet which is a very large secretary style and won't fit in nearly any pocket you throw at it, my Note 3, my padfolio and a pair of Mechanix gloves for work. the messenger just got to be too much to haul around everyday so i have reassigned it to my bag that contains libations for an impromptu gathering of friends family etc.

I have a small business that i am trying to get off the ground and those documents and materials follow me everwhere....even to bed. but i also work in the automotive parts retail business and need a way to carry the gloves, and lasers writing materials needed for that job.

because this falls in the category of wallets and i love long wallets.....I can't explain it....but i will spend good money on one of these sleeves.

does anyone else out there use this kind of item? If there is something better i haven't thought of....what is it?

This sounds weird. Why don't you keep a smaller wallet in your back pocket? Why are you carrying expensive accessories into the auto shop, and throwing greasy gloves into your leather bag? I don't know how to offer a suggestion because your needs are confusing.

i don't work in an auto shop..i work in an auto parts retail store. i don't get dirty from the waist up. the gloves are only used to handle hot or dangerous items......we have latex for the nasty stuff....so thats not an issue....and at $30 i won't leave them lying around. my wallet has been around literally half my life...thats about 18 years....the memories it and I have formed make it my single most precious possession....so it's not going anywhere. I just thought i could get some feedback to some lifestyle issues with these before I potentially buy.

this will go almost everywhere of any importance with me. it has to be light...and because its going to be such an important part of my life.....i want it to look good.

If you say so.

I've bought a couple of bags from Frank Clegg and they hold up. He's very receptive to customization. The bags are not too rugged, but not to precious. He makes portfolios, which you can see here: http://frankcleggleatherworks.com/accessories/portfolios.html

He used to make them a little thinner, much more like a sleeve... I'm sure he could make one like that for you if you asked.

Thank you Makoto! Yes we can still make the older style. We moved away from making it with our softer leather because we felt it was lacking structure. If you every have any question about the Frank Clegg brand or products please let me know!
