i picked up the jacket from a local guy last year. i've never seen this version elsewhere, but it's from fw98. the amount of cdg on the japanese markets is kind of overwhelming, but you might be able to find something similar if you're patient and enjoy sorting through.

kg-- that looks awesome. one of these days we'll get an accurate count of how many sf-ers picked up that barena (i did, too ).

spacepope-- brilliant as always. i had a pair of those deerskin carpes for a bit-- impossibly soft.

tgaith-- i can see why the coat is divisive, but i like it!

Thanks dudes. Do you think Aldens would generally work, or is that too MC? Nothing too formal, thinking specifically Indy boots, PTBs, longwings, chukkas.

Probably any of those, although it might depend a little on the last (I think barrie and modified are the chunkier ones) and the thickness of the sole.

I remember hearing something about Red Wing being kind of evil - they donate money to MN Forward, a business-friendly PAC (nothing necessarily wrong with that) which also happened to support a rather hate-mongering anti-LGBT gubernatorial candidate - but that might've been blown out of proportion.
