Thanks for all the thumbs and compliments everyone! :)

Beautifully done with knitted tie against a small checkered shirt and houndstooth jacket.  Fit is perfect!

Actually its not a knitted tie but a grenadine :teach:
Thanks anyway though!

Burgundy bonanza. I bought these shoes for a special occasion several months ago and haven't worn them since. It's my only pair of black shoes. Of course, they had to be bit loafers. I think dark brown shoes may have been better here though.

AS, if I buy you a pair of shoes, will you agree to burn those loafers?

Crat, given your awesome collection of shoes/boots...I'm going to assume you're joking.

I had gucci horsebits in green suede.....until my housemate dropped a bottle of olive oil in the kitchen when I was standing next to him.
Nevertheless, I like 'em. Maybe a little less in black leather but nevertheless they are an icon that have made their own place in shoe history.
If I'd find my old green pair somewhere I'd buy them again in heartbeat.

Those sound awful! I'm just being an ass...if Gucci horse bits are what rock your boat then by all means, rock on. I know AAS loves his...no way he's going to take me up on my offer.

Why, yes. It's my second time wearing these shoes in about six months. I never wear black shoes. I always feel that brown is better for my wardrobe. If it's any consolation I have a pair of dark brown suede allen edmond oxford captoes at the cobbler's. They should be done on Monday. I also have a pair of brown allen edmond short wing oxfords arriving on Thursday from eBay. I've been eyeing some shoes at Bexley. If they're good enough for Crusty, then they're good enough for me.

Just out of curiosity, how many pairs of dress shoes do you guys own. I have 5 pairs of bit loafers, 4 pairs of oxford captoes, one pair of tassel loafers, one pair of suede penny loafers, one pair norwegians, two pairs of shortwings and two pairs of boots. 16 pairs for me not including sneakers, espadrilles, etc. Kind of a lot now that I think about it.

That seems like a bit much. The issue with bit loafers, imho, is that the bit is so eyecatching that they all look like the same pair and the black ones look weird to me.
