... I see that here's some people around that know what they are talking about so I'd really appreciate any help with jeans...

I'm asking for coments on the pics and suggestions regarding makes/styles to improve on my denims.

Thanks!

Denim 1: The cuffs on the 1947s are way too big. Let them stack and they'll look better. They seem to fit you ok, but they seem a little big.

Denim 2: Good fit. Keep them.

Denim 3: Retire those things. They're too short in length and they look like cool but kind of ****** unrepaired.

I would say if you're looking for new denim, it looks like APC New Standards would look really good on you.

The seat looks big on all of 'em...or is that just me?
You seem to wear your jeans a little short, 'xcept for maybe the last one.
Perhaps you should get something a little more snug around the butt next time?

What're the shoes?

I would hvae sized down at least 1 or 2 on the sc1947s, the anti-fit is very pronounced and they also look too big in the waist.

They all look a tad big in the waist to me (hence the Man-aml toe).

I agree, the seat looks very baggy in all of them. I'm really quite a fan of the fit on the second jean. Get rid of the floodwaters, and reduce the size of the cuffs on the 47s. I realize that none of what I've said is new material, but I do think that the above posters are spot on in their assessment.

1. Fat mom.

2. Thinner mom.

3. Tattered mom.

Not to be harsh. The jeans are fine (retire #3), just to big on you. Are you going for a bit of the rockabilly/50s look? Just size down.

i like how the SCs fit, and the high cuff fits the look with the shoes aswell. But they do look a size or two too big in the waist.. no more shrinkage left in them?

nr2 might be the most "fitting" ones, looks pretty nice. A bit too short though.

nr 3... no.

...thanks for the replies!

The canes are 30/34 one wash - would it help washing them to shrink them? I always felt they are not a good fit on me - they are much better on my gf who's got more of an ass...

The second pair I got in Thailand - well, it says Levis 501 on the patch so I'm really sure they are - not! But they are heavy selvaged denim with quite a tapered leg. What I don't like about those is, they are quite low rise and I'm not used to this - always got the feeling of just loosing my pants...

The third are a bit out of question cause they are dfinitelly gone - still I like(d) the overall feel of them best - btw I usually wore those even shorter with narrow turn ups - and DM boots...

More questions: What about the fit of Lee's (101 Z/B) ore their derivates (SD 103)? Any Nudies that would work (easier to get around here)?

...oh - and no problem with looking a bit trad in a subcultural sense (rockabilly, skinhead etc)...

...the shoes are Pony Shooter '78. Just something to break away from permanently wearing Chucks in summer...

The 2nd pair look best for sure. No way do they look too low rise and they seem to fit you very well

I part way through a similar denim improvement journey, the main thing I would say is you will really have to embrace the lower rise, not a lot of choice really.

I think a pair of Earnest Sewn Fultons would be a good starting point and look good on you, they are at a good price at DenimBar.

i think the 47s look awesome on you------the cuffs rule; i think it is the tucked shirt that makes them look kinda off, but that is easily remedied

i also like the thai fakes very much-----fit is spot on!
