Watchidiot,

I also wanted to thank you for organizing all of this. I was wondering...once the results are finally in, would you be open to sharing the email addresses with each specific group who intend to order a certain model in case we wanted to communicate any potential changes to the final makeup? I'd be happy to take the charge with the navy EC make-up model...less work for you in dealing with all of us.
I will as soon as the survey ends.

WI, can you give any idea on time lines at all, to the nearest month or so? And what are the payment arrangements? I'm finding it hard to let go...

The survey ends in about 11hrs. My plan is to give Paul the resulting count and allow him to give us his pricing. While he does that minor tweaks can be made hopefully wit concensus. I'm hoping invoicing can start next week. It used to be that MTOs were paid in full upon order placement. Not sure if that will still be the case for GMTO. I will try to negotiate 50%, but more likely it will be 100%.

Sorry to be a pain, I meant assuming all is well with numbers and pricing, how long does this normally take from AE? I'm not surprised if they want 100% up front.

One off MTOs are quoted to be available in 8 weeks. I've seen some become available in 4 weeks and I've seen some take as long as 3mo if there's a remake. Right now we have 52 orders so I really don't know how long that will take :)

Bowing out of this GMTO as much as I'd like to get the brown grain boots. I just bought two suits and I have a pair of Alden #8 jumper boots I haven't even worn yet so I think needing another pair of foul weather boots is a bit presumptuous on my part (I'll likely Topy these) and probably a little irresponsible given I'm in a negative cash flow situation. If somebody buys 9.5E and isn't happy with their purchase I'll be interested down the line but I had to reassess my finances this weekend and I think I'm going to put the money toward a (much needed) vacation instead.

Looking forward to seeing your photos in 2 months and being insanely envious and regretful about passing up on this unique opportunity!

Of course the commitment is based on the specs I put in the final make up, which is brass, so I am assuming it will not be a deal breaker if the final spec was kept as brass. That said, if the group really wants to go blind, then may I ask that the following folks be consulted.

I can live with blind, but prefer the brass...

Is there a picture of an EC with blind eyelets or a similar boot? I selected all three options for the eyelets but looking at the Merlot MTO posted in this thread I am having a tough time thinking blind is going to look better than that. I think I need a visual. The only blind eyelet boot on AE site is the cronmok and for me that is not a ringing endorsement.

Another question I have is that don't most suit wearing folks poo poo the idea of wearing a blucher shoe with suits, why would a blucher boot be different? I do not wear suits but was curious.

If there were an oxford boot, it would be a better candidate for navy calf imho. But there isn't.
