Hi! I´m sorry for the question but can anyone please tell me about Brunello Cucinelli? I mean I know that theyre big in cashmere but:

Is their cashmere pretty good? The best?

What about other items? Jackets, shirts, pants & suits? How are they?

Thanx for any input!

I love BC. I'd pick it any day over Loro Piana because BC has a bit more design and styling to it and is almost an Italian take on Prep. Quality is top notch, the hand on everything is great.

Mr. Cucinelli basically employs and sustains an entire village in southern Italy that manufactures the prodcuts.

They also produce Michael Bastian's line.

I have a couple of cashmere sweaters and I think they're outstanding. I also, unfortunately, have a couple of the button down shirts, and the two I have are total crap. They're incredibly expensive, there's no handwork, and the fabrics are not really special. They've also not held up particularly well. Most of the buttons came off within a month or so of purchase. Bottom line: BC cashmere is fantastic, the quality of other stuff doesn't justify the price.

My experience with their buttondowns has also been quite poor.

I like the red stitching on the inside of the collar and cuffs...sort of an "in the know" thing to recognize like Margiela's 4 stitches.

They(he) does sweaters well, but I like other choices better for everything else. And he's overboard on moleskin.

For years we used to try to convince my mother to remove those four stitches. To her credit, she resisted.

I have a button-down and like the styling, but have also seen buttons coming loose after only a few wearings. Not a big deal, I've just sewn them back on. For the price I paid (far below retail), I am not complaining too much...

I have got some B C pants and the fabric is nice, details are nice like army style pockets on the back, inside the construction is slightly below incotex level of quality and attention to detail, the fabric in the pockets is however very soft and a nice touch, I am not saying it encourages playing with the crown jewels, but hey.
The sweaters are very very nice. The jackets I have tried on fit me great and the all cashmere fabric and the unlined interior appeal to me, but its insanely priced. 2000 euros for a grey cashmere semi casual jacket (that I really really want) is just insane. I go out a lot and enjoy a drink with my friends and with cucinelli cashmere I would freak out at the idea of leaning on a bar or table in a pub, that is, for me, a sign that I am not ready for this kind of clothing, well not at that price.
I wear my cantarelli jackets comfortably when I go out or travel or do anything else, because I know its not worth a fortune and still looks good. But hey if your wallet is fat and you like it, the casmere, I say go for it.

Yeah, BC button down shirts are OK but at retail, they are horribly overpriced as their fabrics do no compare to the better shirt makers, the stitching on the shirts is sloppy (particularly the button stitching) and Tommy Hilfiger kinda popularized that whole dark stitched button hole on the collar button thing back in the 80's. That being said, the shirts have nice details and if you can get them at $70-80, they are worth it as you are paying Brooks prices for a much better shirt. BC obviously spends more time and care on their pants and cashmere items then on their shirts.
