i was talking to a friend about t-shirts today since junkfood shirts don't fit the same on me as they used to, whereas they used to be slim and comfortable the new ones (star wars themed and the one i bought reading "rap royalty") feel boxier and looser, but remain the same length as before.

he mentioned how some shirts are made to "anti-fit," but i never heard of this before and was wondering what the point is, and if such a thing exists. i've noticed a lot of smalls that used to fit me fine are now larger, and i've maintained the same weight/size for the past few months.

Sounds bizarre using that term for shirts. I've always understood it to mean a less fitted "ass" in jeans.

From the Levi's website:

Anti-Fit is one of the defining features of the Levi'sÂ

Jeans, and as such has been around since the 501Â

jean was born in 1890. It's a way of cutting the rise of the jean in a straight line (as opposed to curved) which gives the 501Â

jean its recognisable 'top block' (the section of the jean that goes from the waist to the crotch). It came about as a result of trying to maximise every inch of the denim fabric in the late 1890s and early 1900s, and also as a result of taking the original Levi'sÂ

Overall and cutting them down to a pair of jeans. Overalls aren't cut to follow the body but rather to 'hang' on it, and so the 501Â

jean has that same cut - the 'Anti-Fit' cut that doesn't follow your body shape. There are many benefits to anti-fit: Greater comfort, less wear on the seat, and of course, the ability to look good when worn 2 sizes too big!
