Is there any such thing? We'll find out!

The red tie has long been the lame choice, the lazy man's way, a sign that you don't care enough not to do the obvious thing. Is there any wonder that all politicians wear red ties as a matter of rote?

I have two decent ones, and one is solid grenadine, which almost doesn't count. The other is a Nicky woven, and it's pretty good. Red prints are in particular almost always atrocious.

So let's see your favorite red tie. He who posts the most acclaimed red tie wins the honor of begging Kent Wang to award him a pocket square for this non-contest that Kent has not endorsed. There may be another prize, announced later.

I have a couple good ones, but some people may not be able to discern their beauty.

Manton,

How red does the tie need to be, the most dominate color or what percentage of red? Sorry to be a pita, but I need some guidlines here.

Does burgundy qualify?

Clarification: burgundy does NOT qualify. There are billions of attractive burgundy/wine/whatever ties. The color should be something the average toddler would identify as "Wed!"

Anything with a red ground. Stripes, dots, and other patterns are OK.
