Hi Guys

5'6 140lbs
pretty slim build

Can you please critique the suit fit?
I think the hips on the jacket are too wide and flare out like its meant for a lady.
Also think shirt waist and chest can come in by an inch.
Other than that it seems decent.

I agree that the jacket flares out. Otherwise looks good.

Shoulders are a touch wide and you have too much waist suppression, especially in the back, which is probably why you have the flaring of the vents. Also, it looks like your shoulders slope more than the suit is cut for. For the trousers, make the legs fuller from top to bottom.

In order to properly judge the fit of your trousers, you'll need to take a couple pictures with a proper shoe on.

As for the jacket, it seems that you're having some issues with the upper back, namely the collar roll. It's not stemming from the point to point being too small (in fact, it's interestingly a little large), but rather from your traps pulling on the garment. Also, with your sloping shoulders, a jacket with a little softer roping might get rid of some of the dimpling you're seeing. Either that, or reducing the width of the shoulders and/or halfback. When it comes to the flare that you're referring to, by letting out the waist of the jacket a little, you'll help it drape better. Yes, you're in shape, but you don't need things to be painted on.

The vest fits wonderfully.

Overall, it's not bad at all, and I hope you enjoy wearing it!

That fit is so...so... simian.

Gorilla my dreams :inlove:
Seriously, you appear to be into body building and I would strongly recommend you switch the focus from bulk to tone.
Dump it.

Edit-
Avoid waistcoats. You have a stout and built physique and the waistcoat only accentuates your shouders, causing an imbalance with your height. I hope your are not taking 'roids but if you are, stop immediately.

lol definitely no roids, and not bulking either, I'm a pretty small dude @ 140lbs
My body is just weird and I have a small girly frame from the waist down. (even though I was never a swimmer)

So, I'm going to take it to a tailor to have the waist taken out, the hips taken in, and see if he can do anything to help the shoulders.
Thanks a lot for the recommendations everyone!
I'll post back after its all done.

Other reason why you jacket skirts out is the fact that you opted for a more trendy short jacket cut. What happens is your butt kicks out the back of jacket and there is not enough length for it to drape properly. I have the same problem when I tried to cut my jackets too short. If possible, would add 1" to the jacket length, though the button stance is already high and that would make it look higher. Otherwise I would consider a remake, if that option is available to you.

Also you are wearing hi-tops, and that screws up the proportions, and makes your legs look shorter.

Thanks!

The shoes was only because that's what was out when I decided to take pics of the suit fit.
Next time I'll make sure to wear proper shoes, or take indoor pics.

Not terrible but I have to agree that the jacket is a bit too short for you and I'm not quite sure what is going on with the shoulders--they seem to be both tight and loose at the same time and are dimpling in strange places. Maybe it just needs a steam.

I usually like the slimmer pants, but this is a bit too slim and makes the proportions strange. You should re shoot with a pair of shoes on so that we can see how the pants drape, but I do adree that the legs need to be let out a bit. The three-piece takes a certain swagger to put off so it it feels "right" go for it. If it feels strange or forced, lose the vest.

were you measured for this mail away suit?

the vest is the best fit.
pants are too long

put some darts in the shirt.
thoses sleeves may be short after three washes.
the jacket is a mess.

too much waist suppression.
the button on the fronts is too high.
i doubt there is enough outlet in the waist to improve the shape

Start again with a better make, this garment is beyond redemption. Avoid the temptation to buy on line.
