Aqua Terra seems like a great all-arounder, or One Watch, for those who might be so inclined.

Sort of like a larger DateJust.

I hear good things about the movement.

As for Tourneau, no matter where they are in the country, its as though when they interview potential sales associates they only pick people that have the least knowledge and least interest in watches, but the biggest attitudes. Its a place you can go to window shop but that's about it. There are much better shops and sales associates you can deal with in almost any major area.

Strange Tourneau experience yesterday here in NYC too:

1. Tourneau on 57th street: Too much condescension and lack of attention when I walked in inquiring about a ladies Nautilus. Finally I tire of said treatment and take off my suit jacket. Had my 3970 in yellow gold on. Salesperson finally checks me out, doesn't even know what I'm wearing. Presumably his manager comes by after a minute and gushes over the 3970 and proceeds to fawn over me. Ick.

2. Walk over to Tiffany to pick up a gift I got for the wife (6th floor customer service). Cheap purchase, but treated very well. Go down to the mezzanine level to the Patek salon and had a lovely conversation with the young lady staffing the place that afternoon. Spoke about current models, pocket watches, etc. Fairly well informed, great manners. Loved the experience.

Also, she was kind of hot. Won't rule out that factor in terms of why I enjoyed the experience.

3. Headed to Wempe to say hello - know many of the salespeople there (if I go AD I usually buy at Wempe). Drinks offered, chatted to folks who weren't busy, President of Wempe stopped by and said hello. Asked about the 5711 he sold me, told him he ain't buying it back from me just yet. Super nice guy, down to earth. Loved the experience.

And all this from stores who are in direct competition with each other, a few blocks apart. Friend who used to work for Tourneau and who moved to Wempe basically said everyone who works for Tourneau wishes they could leave... and work for Wempe haha.

Roger, is it my imagination or did you get a Speedy Moonphase a while back? All this Omega talk had me thinking about them. If I remembered correctly, how is it?

I sold both the AT and a lovely Grand Seiko GMT to help fund the purchase of an 18k Moser Mayu. I was exceedingly happy with all aspects of both the departed watches.

Gotcha.

So two somewhat sportier pieces towards a beautiful dress watch.

Nice consolidation move.

And where is this Mayu .

I have to say, that is one purchase that seems very wise to make second-hand. Also a great watch to buy new, but Moser takes an absurd hit on the second-hand market. I think I say a Mayu for $7,000 or $8,000 in WG on Timezone ~6 months ago.

Mimo - sometimes I get confused about what watches I owned and when. I did own a Speedy Moomphase, but it was probably 10 years ago - well before my participation on this forum.I do currently own a Speedy 9300 (as does RNGuy).

I stand corrected! I'm sure someone posted one a while back...just found myself ogling them recently. I guess it wasn't the one for you anyway - any particular reasons why?
