What do you guys think of Zenith watches? A watch that doesn't get a lot of love but has a rich history.
I like Zeniths more classic offerings like their dress watches or the chronograph in the top photo. Their El Primero movement, which I believe was a joint venture with Movado, was ground breaking as the first automatic chronograph movement. I find their modern sports watches too stylized and part of the "Look at me I can make a huge watch too, crowd."
I love AP's particularly the RO, and I owned one for about 6 years back in the 1990s. I hope to pick up another at some point. I think the ROO is a handsome watch, I really like the bracelet for them. My main complaint about AP is that they make too many limited editions that are really all the same watch with different color dials. I would prefer it when they made limited editions they made made changes that are more substantial than just dial colors, such as using interesting case matterials, different bezel screws or unusual pushers like those found on the Montoya Edition, that was a cool watch! Still great watches and nice to see some RO/ ROO photos here. Finally another ROO lover. I have the Rubberclad and Safari in my collection. I know they aren't to everyone's taste on this forum, but I do love the Offshore's. My grail is currently the RO perpetual in rose gold. Is the strap custom from AP, or aftermarket? If aftermarket, where did you get it, and how does it compare to OEM? I have my Safari on an AP Don Ramon strap, and I need to replace it soon.
Stunning watch - great first post!
First things first, Jstuff: That is awesome!
Second, my brother-in-law who works in a remote location overseas asked me to trot off to my local AD to snap some photos of some Rolexes for him. He just came back from a vacation with his wife in the Gulf and saw some Rolexes there (Yes I know, Rolexes in the Gulf? No way!), and now he wants one.
Now, I will preface everything with an apology for the poor picture quality (though I think there is some value in seeing watches in a less than ideal photos/conditions), and the big fat smudge on the face of the GMT II (why my wife didn't correct that, I will never know)...
From first to third reading from L to R we have the Explorer II, The GMT Master, and the Submariner
Really Fritz? I am surprised. I would have pegged you for a Reverso man.
Finally it arrives! My new baby . Could not be any happier.
