Gotta second the recommendation on Costco-branded coffee. Kirkland 100% Colombian Supremo... mmmmm

starbucks is not my favorite by any means, but they are convenient.

They make decent espresso. And most of their employees are too stupid to understand that a cup of ice + 2 shots of espresso is just an iced americano and so I am able to save quite a bit on espresso.

No they don't. Their espresso is properly disgusting. I think that's because very few people order espressos and they're mostly used for giant, creamy, sweet coffee drinks rather than to be consumed as an espresso

their machines do a much better job than mine does. I also enjoy that I can walk there.

The espressos are awful. They taste like mud. It is shocking how difficult it is to get a proper espresso in the US. I don't think that I have ever had one as good as what comes out of my Nespresso.

I do go to Starbucks when on trips, vacation, etc. They are the McDonald's of cofee shops...drive throughs, fast service, and the drinks are all uniform in flavor (yes, overoasted). They are certainly not the best in taste, but they are convenient and you know what you are going to get.

I like Americano's but I'd happily take a cup of McDonald coffee over theirs. I like their hot chocolate, but its nothing special.

Holy cow, where do you live? Easter Island? The Antarctic?

Within a five mile radius of my house, according to Starbucks "store locator" (As if such a thing is even neccesary!) There are 34 Starbucks.

Heh, ask j or pm me if you're really asking.

Unfortunately there are several 'coming soon' locations near me, one of which is in the 5 mile box in their locator. The 10mi radius nets two that are in places I've not seen a Starbucks -- probably new or not quite open yet. The 20mi nets the only one I actually do know about, and must have repressed, as there was some hoopla in the local papers when our little geographic region lost its Starbucks virginity -- a year or so ago IMMSMC. Fifty miles gets me a dozen or so, not all of which are in my state, and therefore, may as well be in another country.

Regards,
Huntsman

we say over here, "Fourbucks" ...charbucks is funny.

yes it is charred. my brother who is a coffee connossueir says that starbucks does intentionally over cook the beans.

while i dont prefer the taste of their cofffee,

what i do like is the ambience they provide and the notion of heading over to Starbucks after a dinner with friends or familly is a nice feeling and fun.
so within that context i do enjoy starbucks,

but of course that ambience is ubiquitously provided by other establishments as well; not a novel idea anymore once several years back.

No. Too strong or bitter or both.

Plain old Tim Horton's will do nicely, thank you.
