Nice! So yours will have the non slip nose pads too.

Do you have all the stuff that came with it? I.e. the red cloth, case and Golden Icon booklet?

No, I have only the glasses I bought for 12 Euro from a Lady who didn't know what she were going to sell, because she got the glasses from a Lufthansa auction of staff lost and forgotten in the Frankfurt airport.

Bargain!

Even without the additional. I'm just interested to see what the booklet says about them...

Hi there,

I would love to know more about a pair of Ray Bans I picked up at an auction.
They are stamped B&L RAY-BAN52014 18k then on the other side is stamped B&L RAY-BAN USA.
They have some sort of B&L logo etched in 2 different places on each lens.
The other thing is the lenses are extremely dark and the smallest aviators I have ever seen.
Any info would be much appreciated.

Thank you
Charlotte

It sounds like a "Small Metal", that means the "Large Metal", aka "Aviator" in 52 size, with G15 lenses, I only never heard about "18K", maybe Mmafia knows more about that.

Do you also have the very small case?

indeed. in the bl era aviators cam in 3 sizes (mainly). tge size indicated the the width of the lens, 52, 58 & 62. there are 64 large metals and the sharp shooter had a 64 and even a 65 mm version.
i think if i remember well i heard befire about 18k but not sure. ive not more info though..

Curious if these are RayBan. The person I got them from said they were but I don't see any markings.

They could be very very old (70 years or so...) Ray Ban, but they could also be American Optical sunglasses, I don't know.

One thing is sure, anyway: The glasses and the case don't match together.

Here a pair of sunglasses believed to be Ray Ban from the second world war with their case:

I don't know when Bausch & Lomb started to produce the "Large Metal", aka "Aviator" with the shape the Luxottica version still has and using the gold filling, I don't know anything about the size the "Large Metal" in the 50ies use to have (they look smaller than 58 mm.), I don't know when they started to offer the 62 mm. version...

Does anybody Know about all this questions?

They look pretty real, but be careful with that seller, he is known for swapping around lenses and frames. I personally wouldn't buy from him, but definitely has some real pairs.
