I know this isn't KTT, but apparently supreme has a "backdoor" through a reddit page 20 min before product goes online. You're pretty much screwed from the get go if you're not "in the know"

For those who copped the rider, do you see yourself wearing something like that on a daily basis? Just throw over some JE/other brand casual clothing and head out?

I always thought leather jackets were kinda dressy, but I don't have anything like this in my wardrobe (I live in Canada and have 3 Canada Goose coats and an Arc Teryx Veilance jacket).

I'm on the fence on this one.... Would be really neat but I don't know how much wear it would get

It's a pretty classic riders jacket. I wouldn't worry about versatility; you can throw it on over just about anything.

Still on the fence with the rider. I wish we could get some more details on it.. Are there interior pockets, that sort of thing. I'm surprised we didn't get a video or making of on it considering it's their most expensive item to date. Also wish we got some real world pics and not the HDR shots. After being super excited about their outerwear like bomber jacket online only to be devastatingly disappointed in person, i'm not sure I can take the risk, especially since the return process is usually pretty annoying.

Last 3 pages perfectly encapsulate what I was talking about. We got: a Supreme reference, hunting for ways to "secretly" buy pre-release, questions about how someone can afford 2 jackets, etc.

:foo:

JE stuff is still pretty great for the most part and I'll continue to pick up things, but yeah...

Haha.. I thought that was pretty funny. If you can't afford to buy 2 $1600 jackets, you probably shouldn't buy any of them.

I thought the jacket comment was just being funny really

Also I don't think its a majority of people not being able to afford it. I think people still like to shop smart and not just purchase things just because u have 1k to blow. I hope you guys are that way lol

Are there still promo codes offered to SF members? I tried scrolling back through some recent pages but couldn't find any. Just curious as I was about to make a purchase and every dollar counts!

We can only strive to be as well dressed, opinionated and stylish as you. A visvim jacket with a john elliott tee, man, I need to get on your level.

Hopefully sooner rather than later.

It's interesting how quickly the demographic of the thread has changed. Probably a lot to do with said marketing. I'm sure it's great for the bottom line - even if it makes reading this thread more painful. Reads more like NT/KTT/whatever and less like SF or SuFu.

I think brand dilution/diffusion has been touched on before. While Kith and other various collabos are easy money, it's a slippery slope. Then again, if you're cashing out how much does it really matter?

ETA: to be clear this isn't a case of "this band I like blew up and sold out, I can't like them anymore". Just some observations.

It seems to me they're reaching their exact target demographic

I mean, you have to have an underdeveloped brain to believe this bullshit

"For those who aren't familiar with John Elliott + Co, our brand utilizes the highest quality materials,"

Yes im sure your Old Navy brand of grey sweatshirts uses the highest quality of materials. Please. And lets not forget every ****** clothing brands favourite catch phrase: "raw selvage denim from Japan".

That said, I can appreciate JE as a company. Targeting the market segment of stupid kids with high disposable incomes (their parents) is a tried and true business plan and always will be.
