No else with an opinion on this?

Tweed DB, yes. DB with no tie, no thanks. I did it once and will never do it again.

I have one at my tailor's shop which I may get out this weekend.

I will wear it with and without a...

bowtie!

I want to see the reactions.

Hey, I just don't like it. Doesn't mean you can do whatever you want.

I'll bring up a problem with it that is not mentioned yet in the string.

I think the jacket is a bit of a "mutt"--an odd combination of the (more formal) peak lapel, with the (more casual) patch pockets. It hasn't seemed to figure out what it wants to be, and that gives me pause enough that I wouldn't wear it.

Check it out...white Brooks BD and white hanky...happy now, smart guy*?

For what it's worth, I don't think you're home free. Yes, I agree that you can go tieless with the jacket. But a button down shirt with a peak lapel, double breasted jacket makes you look like David Letterman--I just don't get wearing a button down shirt with a DB jacket.

It's a dark blue donegal. I agree with you on the checks.

I already have a 4x1 DB linen coat that I wear w/o a tie, so the concept is not entirely alien to me. Naturally, the casual nature of linen lends itself better to this look than tweed.

Do you wear a BD with it? I tend to regard that as something that would have been beyond the pale in the '30s, and so Flusser wouldn't do it. I associate it with this sort of French mod / post-mod look. I like it.

FYI- That was F. Corbera/Vox from last year in the pic.

Maybe it's not for everybody.

FWIW I will not wear it with a BD this time.
