The general consensus will be yes, you can cuff your jeans with just about any type of shoe.

Probably more casual. I think you're looking too hard at this though

I was thinking about picking up some Hickey shirts online, and I found the Hickeystyle vs. BoO thread, and rather than bumping that back to the top I figured I'd just ask it hear. A small from J Crew is pretty comfortable for me, but there was some discussion about Hickey shirts getting larger recently. Anyone got any measurements for the hickey stuff (pit-to-pit, ect.) before I plunk money down for something I can't return so I can compare?

Given these are Lee Brooklyns, can you recommend a cut that would be more flattering? Thanks!

I could, but there are plenty of guys in Streetwear would give you a better one. I recommend this thread, post pics, and tell them what kind of fit your looking for in comparison.

Guys, any advice? Following the above conversation in the Men's Clothing forum, Brian recommended I try here for a quick answer as to other options (in terms of specific makers/cuts) to look better in jeans. My probably is that I have wide hips and thighs but a relatively narrow waist so jeans tend to look a bit unflattering on me, as you can see above.

Budget ~ $200 max, so sorry, nothing really expensive.

From what I can see, those look fine. What would you change about them? Slimmer leg?

Well, it sounds like the first "fix" for wider hips/thighs with jeans is already taken care of--wear them a bit lower on the hips. And look for something that's cut very slim in the hips; no need to add any extra flare when that's a problem area anyway. I'd also like to know exactly what you're going for, of course. Do you want jeans slimmer than what you're wearing in the pic? It's a little hard to see the silhouette on my monitor, a bit dark. Don't know if that's me or the pic.

I have the same problem as Hold. My hip bones are too wide and wider than where i can wear my jeans.

The problem i think is, to accomodate that, we end up with jeans that arent a very good fit in the crotch and legs, to fit the hips right.
Which often leads to a bit of a slouchy fit, since i guess i figure if its not stuck tight, then it wont matter.

If we do go slim in the hips, its a bit unflattering as hold said, it gives a bit of a feminine figure tbh. itll look tight in the hips and thighs then loose in the legs, and a bit big in the crotch. Its pretty hard 2 find a good fit.

Im not sure if theres a cut for that.

Ive seen some in the waywn thread that sort of have same problem and went for the regular recommended jeans. didnt look too good.

you got it - that's exactly the problem I'm finding.

- Wear them high and the crotch/legs fit but you look "old man" as in this pic -

- Wear them a bit lower and the hips/waist balance looks better but they look a bit slouchy as in the pic in the last post, repeated below:

- Go slim/figure-hugging in the hips and you're right - you end up with a feminine "pear-shape" silhouette (esp. the waist is high). No pic, but I've tried them in store.

With tailored clothing I (well, my tailor) can "cheat" round the problem quite easily as below:

... but jeans don't seem to be as forgiving. Anyway, if there's no real solution fair enough... just thought I'd ask the experts in here for your thoughts.
